Hi There,
I Think I need some help with the throttle cable adjustment.
There is no adjustment left and when accelerating from a closed throttle situation nothing happens until you give a little more and the bike accelerates rapidly and is very hard to run at low speed.
Does not do it all the time though.
I have talked to dealer and he says I will just have to get used to it.
I thought that maybe the cable needs to be replaced.

This may not necessarily be a sticking throttle, as I'm sure the dealer would have the guys in the workshop lubricate the cable or replace it - prob solved.
It sounds like the fuel injection mapping sensor/computer.
Fuel injected bikes can be moody, and the place you find this out is mid corner where you transition from throttle off to throttle on. I think all us 1300 pilots have experienced to different degrees what you are noticing.
There is a fuel injector remapping farkle you can buy/install to take the 'edge' off this - it makes fuel/power delivery a lot smoother - I'll try and find the link and post it here.

Unfortunately, it appears some ST1300's suffer badly from throttle snatch. My own ST is also a bit on the sensitive side but you do get used to it. Here's a link to ST-owners.com which has a fair bit of info on the Fuel Cut Eliminator which is supposed to reduce or stop the problem your describing:

Just to show that ST11 riders are not totally biased, the ST13 I test rode at the SnowyRide seemed quite ok to me in terms of throttle respose and low down manners. But then again I think CV carbs are the devils work and not as good as the old slide carbs) It does seem to vary from bike to bike. Last time I took notice of reports on the Ivan FCE it seemed that it solved many riders issues, but not always. I wish Honda would just let the OEM ECU to be tuned properly (or let a power commander work )

The place where Fuel Cut becomes an issue is doing a slow tight 'U' turn, going uphill entering the 'U' turn. Get part way through the turn and the slightest closing of the throttle cuts the fuel. The reaction is to open the throttle a little. This is where a little kangaroo action starts. For me, the feet need to be near or on the ground ground at this point particularly when 2 up.
Problem solved with the Fuel Cut Eliminator (purchased directly from maker). This is a 'cut the wires install' with the rear end coming off to complete the job. For me there are no other benefits or other issues with this mod.
