Title: changing some colour
Post by: Streak on November 03, 2014, 08:12:21 PM
Well I have had an experiment tonight I changed all the footpegs, bar ends,  fuel cap, brake and clutch levers to, what does everyone think?

You should have just brought a black ST. Seems they are the best colour :)

Sorry Streak but in my humble opinion it looks like gaudy, gratuitous bling, and doesn't match in with the bike at all.   I suspect the "off road" style metal foot-pegs would be totally unsuitable on a touring bike and transmit too much vibration.   I'd ask for a refund. :fp

Might be OK on a black bike, but to me it looks not quite right.

Sorry.. 8)

Not sure it matches either the style of bike or the colouring.

It might work if they were black pieces, just not gold maybe.

Each to their own of course! If you love it, who cares what we think! :)

:eek   :fp   I hope it is photo-chopped and not for real.   :grin

it took me about 20 minutes to swap everything over, I am going to leave it on for the RTe this weekend, see how it settles into my head, if not, then I can just take them off :)

as for showing the white tank, I do love it, but I am prone to chucking things on the tank, so I have always used the tank cover for that reason, avoids any damage....

I'd agree with the nice black tank cover (having had a blue one and now the red one).  The associated tank bag is very good until you want to refuel.

Sorry about all the nay-sayers, but I'm not into bling, either.  It's like HD chrome.  Won't get you home!    :p

I think the consensus is, buy jewellery for the Missus, not the Mistress.       :rofl

Everything xcept the pegs work 4 me. They r not comfortable looking and that should never b compromised for bling. The gold cap on the black covered tank looks gr8. The other bits of gold r very individualistic and would enable spotting this bike among other parked white steeds instantaneous. Like Wyvern with his anodised red brake and clutch levers, I can c him from the next suburb. The gold also melds in nicely with the amber lights and reflectors.

I say if u r happy having a distinctive individualistic ride that will attract comments then stay with it but those pegs r not practical - black ones would work tho.

9/10 from me Streak. No kidding!  ;-*

Well I have had them on the bike for a couple of weeks now, and also scrubbed the bike clean, and I took some photos outside, and I am kinda liking the colour change, the pegs I am not getting any vibration from a couple of 50km trips so pretty happy so far

Good-onya-m8,

It's your bike n you should have it just like u like it.
Even tho I think they look like trail bike pegs - the pegs r in accord with your taste. U might change your mind sometime and then we might rib u about it! All in good humour, of course.

Mate, if it would bring on the rain, I'd wash my bike! (mid-week, of course).
We're parched up here.
