Title: Another Newby from WA (SoR)
Post by: Mitch on February 14, 2012, 10:13:52 PM
Hi All
I ride an 07 St1300, not sure of the colour name but looks like Metallic Titaniun. I have had the St for 3months now and done about 2000 klm on it. Being retired I get plenty of time to ride.
I also ride a 98 Valkyrie which I've had for 3 years and put 45000 Klm on, including a trip to the snowy ride last year. The valk is going up for sale as the Leader Of The Opposition reckons 2 bikes is 1 to many, she must be obeyed.
I have been riding for about 43 years and had a lot of bikes, some of the more memorable are a Kawasaki H2, 1975 Goldwing and a 1985 V65 Magna.

Greetings Mitch, a timely arrival.

Make sure you buy an OzSTock shirt, and attend the RTE in York with shirt on. We need numbers to suppress those eastern staters

Welcome Mitch, good to see another SOR. Not sure what your riding habits are like and I know it is short notice but you may like to check out this thread.

Look out Diesel- the desperados are dragging in newbies with only 43 years riding experience and putting OZSTOC shirts on them to try and win back THE RECORD!

Couldn't figure out this "SOR" thingy, so looked it up in http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com (http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com):

Sor   Sorry
SOR   Statement Of Reasons
SOR   Sex Offender Registry
Sor   Sorcerer (Dungeons and Dragons class)
SoR   School of Rock (album)

OK.  At least I know now.   :-X

SOR means South Of River in this case, meaning the Swan River.

G'day Mitch,

Sorry I've taken a while to do the rounds - thanks for the intro - that's a fair effort to do the Snowy Ride from SoR mate - well worth it you'll agree.

Make sure you get out with those zany Sandgopers for a RTE as a great time is guaranteed!

You seem to be enjoying your new ride - but none of us here are surprised!       :rofl

Keep us posted on life with your ST and make sure you read back on some of the older threads on this site as there are some pearls of wisdom in there somewhere. PLUS folks on here are only too happy to help with any queries you may have, so ask away ol mate.

Great to have you aboard.    :thumb

Cheers, Diesel

G'day Mitch,

Great group here (with the odd exception) :p

Seriously, they are a great group of guys. Only too willing to help if needed and a mine of useless useful information. :thumb

As Brock said, get a shirt and come on the ride. WE were the inaugural World Record holders of OzSTOC shirts worn on a RTE but guys over east, I won't say which state but it's up the top on the right, spat the dummy and  moved the goal posts just enough for them to take the title from us BUT WE WILL BE AVENGED. :butt

Take care and see you soon,

Dave R                                                                  :wht13

Oh Dave,

Made it home safely to mark the end of a great day out with the Villains. I believe the world record for number of OzSTOC shirts appearing at the same location was smashed! – by one!

Keep this in mind everyone – the Queenslanders hold the record – which currently stands at (drum roll) ............. 3!

The Sandgropers have a great chance to break this record and send it West!

BARRY AND MARISSA'S WEDDING DAY RTE

A great day was had by all, and a new world record set for OzSTOC shirts (5 – albeit for only a short period) – (we had a two hour jump on those Westies).

The day was perfect, as was the company and weather.

And, the very FIRST World Record for OzSTOC shirts at an RTE was set in the sleepy hollow of Esk - which is in.. ummmm... Queensland! (OK so it was only 2) but it has to count - OzSTOC was young then.

I will await your retort/surrender.             :butt

 :popcorn :popcorn :popcorn

Oh yes -      :hijacked         Sorry again Mitch.      :fp

Post dated claims to the record dont count. If you didnt make the claim just after the event, it never happened..

Okay - let me know where you've left the goalposts then and we'll have a go - no wait! We don't need to yet!       :crackup :crackup :crackup       :butt :butt :butt

Could be bothered searching for the report, but I recall the Esk event with two worthies was declared a record at the time.

Unless WOB* logic makes the term "post dated" mean something different (to suit a certain bROCK)   :p

* for Newbies  WOB = Sandgroperville = the far Left bit of the continent.

Go to bed bROCK.  It's getting late, even over there where everything happens a bit later.
