Fellow ST Owners, anyone interested in a lunch on the 27 November 2014 at the surf club.
I'm only up for a week and would enjoy the catch up.

If I wasn't going to be in PNG, I'd be there.  I want the hear the Candles story.

Ok boys and girls. How abt an rte. Woodford abt 8.30 then up through maleny. Coffee at Kenilworth, then up the Mary valley, turn off to Cooroy and then Noosa. Would need some idea of numbers and a ride leader, surf club would need a booking since its popular and cheap.
As I type this I've just remembered I'm booked into a first aid course that day.
I'll supply route details if there are any starters.

I'll put in for either the day off or a late start and make the arduous journey northward passing over the dangerous sand-fly invested waters of Bli Bli, travel up the notorious grey nomad straits of the sunshine motorway and enter the forbidden land of the Mercedes and Porsche's arriving at the sanctuary of the Noosa Surf Club.

In all, I expect the journey to take around 25 to 30 mins..... phew  :o  :fp

Skip, I only regret that I have but one RTE to give (a month) for my Country I mean OzSTOC.  :grin

My loose plan is:

Breakfast at Woodford Bakery around 8:00 am

Morning Tea at Poets Cafe, Montville around 10:00 am. 167 <ain street, Montville, Queensland 4560

and then a quiet pootle towards home.

I looked at the Castle Glen link and thought at first it was a little off-track for you (Thulimbah, near Stanthorpe) but then researched further to their Montville store.      :grin

Still- it's another castle for the FarRally collection.

Yep, their shop is very close to Poets  Cafe.

Gadget, are you specfically on a booze run. Nicer ride would be coffee in maleny then Kenilworth and then either through eumundi or through cooroy. Bell me on 0407159860 thurs am.

After my late start I made my way up the D'aguilar Highway to CJ's Bakery at Woodfor parking section.d and had a very nice sausage roll.

I then jumped back on the bike as the morning was warming up fast and soo the temps were over 30 °C.  :H As I climbed the range on Stanley River Rd the temperatures dropped a little and after a few pleasant bends at a reasonable clip, the GPS took me towards Mary Cairncross Park, and then down past Maleny Dairies and back towards Montville.  Before I knew it I was sitting in stopped traffic waiting for over 5 minutes because they were resealing the intersection at the turn off to Montville.

At 9:40 am I pulled in to Montville and found a park just out the front of the Castle Glen shop.

As I was getting ready to go to Poet's Cafe and await the others Sabie turned up and asked if this was the  :blu13 parking section.  :grin

So being close to 10 am and the heat climbing, Sabie and I went to the cafe and awaited IanB.

After a brief chat, IanB turned up and we ordered.  This was awesome.

After a nice long chat and some beautiful food and drinks, we headed off to Noosa to Meet Candles for lunch.  After an interesting ride down the ridge, we hit the slab to Eumundi (time was of the essence) and made it to Noosa a couple of minutes after 12 pm and parked up next to candles red ST1300.

After a quick change by Ian we headed into the SLSC to meet candles and enjoy the view, good conversation and epic stories and grand food.

Sabie had to disappear early to head off to work and at 1:30 pm, Candles informed us he had an appointment with a Real Estate agent, so we headed off.

Because the temp was still up in the low 30s IanB and I decided to head down the coast to keep with the sea breeze in our face.

Somewhere on David Low Way, IanB headed inland and I continued on down to Coolum before hitting the Sunshine Motorway towards home, then a quick side trip towards Kunda Park and the Bruce Hwy to home.

Fortunately I made it home before the hail storm hit.  Unfortunately the car was at my wife's work and appears to have possibly been damaged.  Oh well, that is what insurance is for!

I thought of you bastards lucky fellas today while I was at work, lamenting the fact i wasn't out there tearing up the Sunny Coast Hinterland roads with yas.      :'(

Glad you had a safe ride back.
I'm back in Canberra :'( bit of study ahead before I come back full time. Can't wait.
On the way back I did the Oxley Hwy from West to East, Bendeermeer to Port Macquarie. It was wet and designed for bikes. Bit hard with the camper trailer but all good.
