Title: Greetings Fellow STers
Post by: Bloodman on November 19, 2014, 11:06:38 AM
I am as of yesterday , now the proud owner of a 2005 Blue ST 1300. Traded my previous Honda CBF 1000 and can't complain about their reliability . My only whine is that they make the worst seats ever manufactured. Unfortunately due to the lack of free cash I'm stuck with the stock seat and my better half is not impressed after 60 minutes on the back.  :-[
I am however looking forward to meeting fellow members and using the forum to solve issues and gain info.

Thanks for the add.

Your Missus is pretty hard to please.  Every pillion I've ever carried (and there have been a lot) have complimented the comfort of the stock ST13 pillion seat.  It's the rider's seat that needs improving from most people's experience.
Once you're solvent again you can start throwing money at the front seat.  You can research plenty of options in this Forum, including DIY jobs.

Welcome along Bloodman....enjoy your new ride  :like

Here is some seat info --> http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=6250.0 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=6250.0)

Investigate the current position of your stock seat too, most riders depending on their height get best results from middle to highest setting on the front and as low as possible on the rear even if you bend the tabs back a couple of milimetres to get the riders seat as flat as possible will make a difference to most riders

Welcome Bloodman
WE purchased one of these

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HONDA-ST-1300-PAN-EUROPEAN-02-12-TRIBOSEAT-ANTI-SLIP-PASSENGER-SEAT-COVER-/360609756537?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f6043579 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HONDA-ST-1300-PAN-EUROPEAN-02-12-TRIBOSEAT-ANTI-SLIP-PASSENGER-SEAT-COVER-/360609756537?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f6043579)

and it improved the ride for my wife by stopping her from sliding on the seat.

Welcome On In Bloodman  :clap
I purchased a Sargents seat. The pillion seat is an inch wider either side and scalloped. My pillion reckons its heaps better than the stock seat. With change of seats and highway pegs I went from around to 400kms a day to over 700kms.
