:hatwave OK Tassie OzStoc-ers (and other interested bikers) - I have an 'itch' that needs to be scratched - me thinks the only way is with bum on seat and hand on throttle. The 'long range' weather forecast for this Sunday *26th Feb* is :thumbs. 18 overnight, 29 during day :thumbs :thumbs, with a 'clearing shower (or two)' ::).
I was going to suggest a trip to the south of Hobart - to say Dover ??? Theres some mighty impressive windy open roads down the Huon way :runyay. Lovely sweeping curves, great views of the water around Franklin and some great hill climbs just south of Geeveston and near Dover.
So.... anyone keen? Post your thoughts. Carsten, Kev, Baz?

I'd like to do the ride also but not totally sure I can make it............if I look like being able to do so I'll give Kev a :phone to see where the meet up is!!
-
I'd be in on it but I'm waiting for some tyres to arrive. :|||| The rear I have on wouldn't even get me half way there at the moment but have fun anyways.
-
I'm in. Bear in mind south is 90km/h max speed.
-
Geeze the weather is getting better! BOM says "Its now 35 with late showers". (might have to break out the swimmers!) >:() Dover 'beach' here we come?! :o Shame the water temp will be around 12! :crazy It looks like we have a forum of three, but *really* hope to see you there Couch , sounds like its nigh impossible for Walton, maybe next time...
-
Simon......I might be able to make it.............on the off chance that I can, where are you meeting up, and at what time?
If I'm coming then I'll be there before time.........if I'm not there on time, then don't wait around as I won't be coming.
I hope to see you there!!
Cheers,
Baz

Hey Simon,
What starting time and from where? Probably not too late if its going to hit 35 degrees.
-
OKAY.
WHEN: Sunday! The earlier the better. Does anyone have a problem with 9am?!
WHERE: Theres a Banjo's in the middle of Kingston (on the main street (Channel Hwy)). Tis just up from the BP servo. Can't miss it - it will have a :blu13 Blue ST1300 parked out the front of it too. I will be there from 9.00 for a 9.15 departure.
I need to be back in Kingston by 4pm at the very latest.
ps C'mon Baz!!!

Mate........I'll do what I can to be there. Early start for me but that's ok, I'll look at leaving at 7am if I'm coming.
I've torn a tendon in my right shoulder (supraspinatus) and it's giving me curry but I'll see how I go!! I do want to be there!!!!

I'll meet you there Kev.

I tore the tendon about 7 years ago (karate) and unfortunately they never really heal. Decided at the time not to have it re-attached because of the recovery time involved. It's not too bad most of the time but I stretched it recently and it's giving me curry again. Might have to have another Cortisone shot!....................I'm trying to get there!!

Now how have you managed to do that Couch?....or shouldn't one ask?....you haven't been practising how to pick up a motorcycle have you :wink1
Cheers :beer
Kev
P.S.
Will be good if you can make it...

I hope you guys had a great day riding while I was stuck at work. :cuss
-
Yep, had a great ride, 260 km's for the day, to Southport and a lap around the channel. 37 degree by Simons ST13 guage, still a nice breeze. The only sweaty bits were where the breeze couldnt get to. Thanks to Kev and Simon for a great day and pity Baz couldnt get there. Might have to stick to chopping the onions and not bricks Baz.
-
I'm pleased you had a great day mate.......I was thinking about you all sweating it out!! Bugger!!
I'm off to the docs tomorrow to see about getting something done (cortisone not surgical). I was still hoping to come late yesterday but I hurt it yet again by simply reaching across the dinner table. That's the worst part about it, it just starts to improve and I'll reach for something and it's like a knife going through the top of my arm, then it's just a burning, throbbing pain for the next few hours. All I can do is load myself up with painkillers but they only take the edge off it. Worst part is I'm still taking a Karate class twice a week for a new student so I'm somewhat restricted in what I can show her. Fortunately she's the one doing the hard work!! There'll be better days ahead!!

Hey Kev.........I'm having a look at a Drift HD Camera tomorrow. Used, but supposedly hardly at all, and evidently like new! Well I'll check it out anyway. If I get it I'll be looking for some lessons on how to post the videos up on our forum. I'll have no problem taking the vids as I've had video cams for years, just not suitable for the bike unfortunately. I can't even post full size still shots on our forum, so be prepared Kev!! :grin

Suppose I'll have to order a shirt. I looked like the rose between two thorns or was it the other way..........?
