If anyone rides with a tank bag and is always blowing the horn when you are turning sharp to turn around Abe has come up with the answer. A little spacer that fits under the horn button to stop the tank bag from hitting it
ST2UP and tj189 have both told me to get onto Abe and for $20 delivered I'm happy I'm not waking everyone up when I'm heading off early in the mornings for a ride. His Son makes them up in his spare time

When I first read the title I had so many questions rush through my head :whistle
But now I see the pics it all makes sense......and yes I haven't hit my horn on my tank bag since I have had one of these little gadgets :nahnah.....Very well made by Abe Junior indeed :-++
Full endorsement from me :thumbsup

I actually don't have a problem with the horn button, but my screen often goes up and down in the same situation. Can anyone confirm if it stops that from happening as well? Brilliant idea regardless! :thumb

As you can see in the third picture where it blocks the tank bag hitting the horn button it would also stop it from hitting the screen button.
So I guess it could be called "Horn & Windscreen Stopper blocker thingy" :grin :thumbsup

great piece of kit :thumbs

He's saving his money for driving lessons ("L's" in a couple of months.)
I'm not teaching him, I have bad habits. :eek
He's making another 4 as we speak :thumbs
-
great idea , do they fit an ST1100 , the horns fitted on mine are like something fitted to a small truck very effective on the road but not for neighbours.
-
Hi Phil.S it wont fit the 1100, but I'll see if the young fella can come up with something if you wish.
-
I'll have one for the ST1300 and if he comes up with one for the 1100, I'll have one for that too please.
-
Just have to praise the service here. Ordered Tuesday arrived Friday - sensational.
-
Glad it made it in time for your ride Aussieboy.
Well the young fella has comes up with one that fits the 1100 now.
Similar shape, but a little smaller.

After a week's holiday followed by a few days of sickness and then work catch up, I've finally got a wet day allowing me to fiddle with the bike. In a process taking a whole 2 minutes, I fitted the Horn Stopper farkle.
As already noted, it's a professional quality fabrication. It perfectly fits the contours of the existing switch block and the precisely correct metric replacement bolt is supplied with a lock washer and an application of thread securing paste.
I haven't ridden with it yet (remember- it's raining, and so why would I if I don't have to?) but I'm rapt by the fact that my thumb is lead directly to the horn switch.
This is important to me, because my PTT switch is directly to the left, and of course, the turn switch is above. Now I have no problem instantly accessing the horn to let my 123 dB airhorn explain to an errant motorist that "This Lane Is Taken". Previously I have been known to cancel my indicators at him/her, or blast someone near me when I just wanted to transmit on the CB.
That, of course, is an added bonus to its primary design intention of stopping the horn and windscreen switches being activated by the tank bag which Rosie has ably demonstrated to be also very effective.
At $20 PP in good packing, this is a win-win. A young bloke gets a boost and we get a neat farkle. ++

Many thanks for the feed back Biggles, you have a the young fella happy indeed. :thumbs
I have just sent STroppy his 1300 & 1100 stoppers with mod's that we have mentioned.
All feed back is good feed back, it will help him in the future no doubt.
-
WildRose, that's genius.
Half my trip to tassie was spent blowing my own horn... wait...
Seriously though great find

Just fitted Abe's Young Fella's hornstoppers to both my 1100 and 1300 bikes . . . Very easy fit, they look great . . Best stop horn blowing faekle I've seen.
Haven't ridden the bike yet (1300 bare naked for some other work & 1100 in similar state and unregistered) but as Biggles indicated ones thumb is well guided to the horn button . . The satin black looks good, fits well with the switch block.
Well done!

Great to see all this positive feedback :like
Had mine for about 6 months now and still stoked....although its not getting a lot of use at the moment :H
-
Hmmm. I'll have to look in to this now I have a tank bag.

This is what the modified horn/windscreen stopper looks like. The 2 modifications came from feed back.
Ben is happy to remake the new design for those people that have already purchased the original model.(I'll PM those)
Original horn stopper may be better suited if you have not fitted a "handlebar riser plate'. (waiting on feedback)
NOTE: I have a MCL riser plate fitted

What are the mods Abe?
-
What prompted the "turned down" mod?
-
Modifications are:
Satin Black (blends better with the switch block)
Turn down in front of horn (to aid your finger towards to the horn button)
Some people have preferred the "original" stopper as they have been using it as a thumb rest.

Still going to offer the gold glitter option for an extra $2.....just getting in before Saaz does ;)
