So finally ordered those pads and battery, no idea how to install a battery but im sure after reading the forum someone has posted a tutorial thats probably 5 years old and still in working order, cos ill need that tutorial to get the bike out of the garage to the bike shop to get the pads fitted so once all goes well then hopefully ready for my cruise to Toowoomba :) Just need to find someone to go with so I feel cool :P

Jump start bike in garage and then take all down to bike shop to get fitted :).
Just kidding .. as soon as you take the seat and left hand side cover off you will see battery and how to change it out.
If you don't ride it often, get yourself a C-Tek and permanently install the lead for it on the battery so you can just plug in when you come home from a ride.

This is what I use on my 1100 and 1300 C-Tek MXS 5.0 plus a "comfort connect" on both bikes.

What does that C-Tek actually do? Also how much are they?

I fitted a set of MetalGear rear pads this arvo. The old pads still had 25% of the material left- approx 5000 kays if we apportion the 26577 km that I got out of them. Sintered, $31.46 over the counter with OzSTOC discount.
I'll replace the front ones later in the week. It takes a while for the new pads to conform to the old disk so they're not 100% effective straight away. The front ones will keep doing most of the work while the new back ones bed in.

Is your bike ABS or non ABS
IF ABS, then according to Metal Gear site they are good for the front or back

The designated 30 - 190 for the front are a thinner pad. They do come with a removable shim, which I found it necessary to remove to get them in. The folk at MetalGear say that's fine- it's probably there to accommodate other bikes that take the same pad on a thinner disk.
Don't lose the plot jf3000. You can use what you've got as Brock says, if you can get the thicker pads into the front caliper- you just need another set the same to match for the other front caliper.
