What do you think the old troughs were used for at the base of the bar in the old pubs??

My alcho grandfather used to tell me about the 6 oclock swill where blokes would order beer and refuse to go to the loo because they would lose their spot at the bar so they used to just pull out the old feller and whizz against the bar wall and it would go down the channell along the bottom of the bar and get cleaned out later.

Looks like BAR-room exPEEdiency!  :butt

However the pic is pure fantasy - notice the beer taps r pointing 2wards the patrons who can pour their own and the beer glasses  r full and going warm and flat - not possible.
 :eek :-(((

I can't remember the last time I saw a tap behave that way, unless it was a gate valve type tap in which case it would only have one end, not the double as depicted.

Bear one thing in mind though - this is just a joke joyce!!

Speaking about the old 6 o'clock swill, in South Australia we knew which pub my dad had been at by the time on the clock when he pedalled his bike home. He used to down his drink and head for the door when they called "Time, Gentlemen, Please!"
Could set your watch by it.

6.09 = Eyre Hotel
6.18 = Gowrie Hotel
6.45 = Bay View Hotel
6.49 = Spencer Hotel
6.52 = Whyalla Hotel

(Last 3 are an uphill ride)
