Since the beginning of this year, I've only ever received a (NSW) rego renewal notice via email, never the printed renewal notice which I'll need for the pink slip and green slip inspection and renewal. My current address is listed on my licence so they know where I live.
The first time was for a trailer which didn't need any of the above, and I only noticed it in my spam folder the day it was due. However I will need all this now as the current one is for the ST.
Has anyone else come across this before?

Nope. Didn't tell them I had email.

Bit different in SA; we just get the renewal sent in the mail (but we don't need it) about a month before and pay on-line or at the post office. If the printer was working I'd attach the receipt to the renewal but they still send out the certificate in the mail after we pay anyway. Guess they need to justify their admin fee.....lol
We can now pay monthly via direct debit if we want to (conditions apply).

In QLD I get a mailed reminder to pay my rego. But we don't have rego stickers on vehicles, all the details are available for the Police on computer. Wonder how we get on if we travel into another state? Or what about if I took my bike touring overseas?

The NT and Vic are the same no rego label anymore and in the NT the plods have all info on their laptops.

I get both email and SMS when rego is a month out and about a week out. I like it. Less papers cluttering the desk and a little bit of a reminder to get it all done is actually quite useful when you are a single working dad juggling lots of plates at once. This is in NSW btw.

In Vic, no emails just an account notice to say when it's due and the details of the vehicle. Usually about six weeks in advance so ,it gets slipped into the appropriate spot in the accounts folder. Not sure I,m keen on just an email, easy way to forget it? Always preferred a hard copy for reference. No labels any more for light vehicles though, not a fan of that either. Just sayin' :wht11

My original post was meant to indicate that as I didn't have the renewal notice in hard copy I would need it to get the inspection done.
It would have done me no good to rock up at the inspection point with a vague email reminder notice with no VIN.
I've since found out all my mail from the RTA was going to my old PO Box which as now been sorted

Glad you got it sorted Peter. Would be really weird to only have email notification. PS no stickers here in WA either. Renewal letter 6 weeks or so prior to expiry.
