My apologise if this has been done somewhere else, couldn't find.
As most are aware I have done a considerable work to AnaSTasia of late, still fine tuning carb situ.
Anyway also did new seals and fluid in forks.new rotors and pads.
Brand new Bridgestone Battlax T30 with balance beads, on a second hand straight rim,unknown age as mine had been buckled (long boring story, trust me you don't wanna know)
Anyway as I've been getting the feel for her all over again, I've noticed under firm braking a sort of shuddering at almost stop and I've noticed a sort of speed wobble at around 120ish, ( no lectures of speed limits)
As I have the wheel bearings anyway thought I may change them, so I was wondering id anyone a proper tool I could borrow or guidance rather than me bashing away with steal rod and sockets etc.

Converted to taper bearings about 10k ago,no more.

I use a large, size ?? dynabolt, lock it in and knock that out

To reduce bashing to fit the new ones, leve the bearings in their bags (if they come in bags) and bung in the deep freeze for a couple of hours, The bearings will shrink a bit, and they may just drop in. You could also heat the bearing seat with a hot air gun to expand the hole a bit, better get some one to help with that, as you cant heat and get bearings out of the freezer at the same time (unless you use a little cooler with dry ice instead of the freezer.

It would be worth checking the tension on the head bearings as they might have seated a bit more and need tightening up.

Thanks Saaz, Ill do that.
Now Bugger,Bugger removed old bearings and dust caps etc, cleaned up rim and bits.
Put new bearing in freezer as suggested to shrink as suggested.
Then outa the freezer to test and shit they have grown.
So out with the vernier and the new bearingnes are 47mm and the old ones are 42mm is this possible, my original wheel with bend in it seems to be 47mm whereas the secondhand ones is 42mm :||||
So maybe I should consider getting original wheel straightened or get correct size bearing.

Sounds like the replacement wheel wasnt quite right. Do you know some one who could machine out the wheel a tad????

What was the part no of the old bearing (should be on the dust seal, or etched into the bearing edge. does it match the new bearings

Part numbers are different
I wonder what impact a slightly smaller bearing would be in the scheme of things.
Getting the correct bearing maybe a lot easier than Machining or straightening old wheel.

It may be an earlier model wheel..
New bearing from a local bearing shop is quick and cheap

The front wheel bearing size did change in 1996. If you take along a bearing that came out you can make sure you get the right ones. The why might be that the ABS models from 96 on had the wider front rim and a 120/70 front tyre, so perhaps the bigger bearing was thought to be needed by the engineers.

There is an obvious reason, interesting through both my rims are 18 x 3inch and i tell by the centre of the rims that my original police rim has maybe machined to take the larger bearing.
I try and use 110/80 tyres.
I'll ring some bearing suppliers in Perth Tomorrow.

Had a few issues getting a fe things settled with bearings and fork alignment (Maybe OCD just a hint) but all good now I feel.
Does anyone know a tuning guru (carbys) in WA, when I start her, even after sitting for days she starts 1st time eveytim even without choke, but still doesn't sound as smooth as I think she should be.
I set the screw set at 2 turns as the manual stated 2 settings 1 7/8 turns and 2 1/2 turn, I couldn't confirm so went in the middle.
I've balanced carbs an number of time, but not since last ride to Narrogin.
I've had a few health challenges so things have been a tad slow.
