I have put a list up of the Australian specific rides on the IBA Australia sub forum here:

I'm pretty safe from most of those. :eek

Thanks TJ.
The names of the centreline rides seem to be at odds with the other names.
The more onerous rides have "Gold" or "Insanity" or both in the ride title.
I believe the Centreline 24 should be renamed to Centreline Gold and the Centreline 36 renamed the Centreline. This distinction would be more in keeping with the other ride names. The Centreline 24 is an onerous ride. Its more difficult than the BBG (gold in the ride title).
These are the only rides that have the time limit in the title without "Gold", "Insanity", etc.
Although I don't know how to get the titles changed if you and other riders agree.
The other strange title IMHO is the Australia 50cc GOLD Finishers. Why do we need "Finishers" in the title? None of the awards are relevant if we don't finish the rides.
For your consideration/comments.

Don't sell yourself short, Biggles.
I watched you ride the SS1600. :beer
The BBG has the same time limit. You just have to ride faster and take shorter breaks.
When you stop doing that work thing, why don't you come with me to the NT for a bit of a blat. :runyay

It's on my list of things to do and I'll have a better chance of getting a Kitchen Pass if I have a chaperone.
I doubt I can legally ride faster, but I'll admit to some leisurely breaks.
In my very limited experience, the toughest "non-extreme/ non-insanity" ride is the SS2000 (K). There's not must sitting around during that 24 hours.

I will remove the finisher bit, missed it but got the others.
Naming for the Centreline will not be changed as far as I am aware, originally Davo's ride was listed as a BB2500K and was changed by the IBA to its current title. I actually did the ground work to have it changed and Mike Kneebone settled with the 24 and 36 as it fitted in with the IBA naming of rides for the IBA.
I have to be honest here and say that I would not like to see any of the Davo Jones rides renamed as they were changed to recognise his support and encouragement for LDRiding in Australia

"Mike Kneebone settled with the 24 and 36 as it fitted in with the IBA naming of rides for the IBA."
If that was the case you'd think it would be called a 24Centreline similar to a 50CC.
But I have my answer. Best leave things as they are.
-
'tis interesting in ride naming, originally Davo talked about his "Trans continental" ride which was suggest for the name as opposed to a SS10000K which it was recognised as and Mike decided on its current name

nope, 50CC and 100CC fit in with motorbike motors :beer

What's the SS10000K?
Trans Continental I think for most people is Sydney to Perth one way but I guess it could include Darwin to Adelaide because you cross the continent either way.
-
We are talking IBA rides here;
SS10000K is a SaddleSore 10000K any where, 10000km in less than 6 days
The comment regarding Trans Continental was used in a ride report that Davo Jones wrote regarding his run from Byron Bay NSW to Denham WA and back. The ride one way is referred to as the Trans Australia Quest and doing the ride over and back is referred to as the Trans Australia Insanity
The IBA run from Darwin down to Melbourne (or the other way around) is referred to as an Australia 50CC
The run from Sydney/Brisbane to Perth is referred to as a 50CC Gold if it started or finished below Sydney it would be a 50CC

"nope, 50CC and 100CC fit in with motorbike motors"
Silly me, I thought 50 and 100 related to the time limits for the rides, 50 hrs and 100 hrs respectively. Looks like I'm up for another bike(s). :rofl

that is so funny :crackup :rofl

Just wanted to clarify this one a bit more, here is a quote from Davo Jones write up regarding the Centreline 24
"I like to call it "CentreLine 24" now lets see if anyone else wants to take up the challenge. For those out of the country, we are talking almost desert the whole way with very few inhabitants."
Thanks TJ.

I'd pay money to see Lionel do a 50CC or a 100CC on a 50cc or a 100cc. :crackup

One of the bikes I owned in Year 12 was a 49cc Honda Step through scooter. I can't remember if the slogan "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" was first associated with this scooter.
Good economy - about 256 miles per gallon.
At that time I was 6' 4.5" and 11 stone in the old money.
So long ago.

It's funny what some people call a desert. I'd heard while growing up that the road north went mainly through desert country and the only time I've been up that we got all the way to Alice Springs without seeing any sign of a desert (meaning like the Sahara or similar). Then I found out later that they meant desert as in lack of water not plant life.

The current road from Port Augusta is the newish one, back in the 1950 & 1960's it had a vastly different alignment more akin to the old railway and most of it's length was unsealed and it would get washed away (as did the rail) . . . It was a fairly tough, rugged old trip with many a vehicle not making it to the other end . . . Most people shipped their vehicle by rail between Port Augusta and Alice Springs . . A vastly different run to the easy run it is now . .
