Hi everyone
in the market for rear tip over bars is there any other option than MCL
Peter

Yes look here:-

They are not as bulky looking as the MCL bars
-
....and another one is the rear tip over bars from a GoldWing. They obviously mount vertical as opposed to horizontal on the Wing

We have modified GL 1800 Kukyran ISO pegs on the rear.....we call them Pockey Pegs but watching this thread with interest, the US $$ is a bit nasty at the moment for the MCL's

Sickman was sporting a set on his bike from memory

If you regularly have a pillion and use the MCL bars you will mostly likley need the lowering peg kit as the pegs and crash bars are now to close together for the pillion pegs to be used :think1

Does anyone know of the same for the ST11?
After this mornings little escapade and a broken RH mirror cover I sure wish I had them on my ST11.

These are mounted at the rear to protect the panniers, so I doubt they would have made a difference to protecting the mirrors
Unless you're looking at something like this

Hi Marcus,
You might well be right ... but most of the impact is taken by the crash bar under the grey wing covers and it was only when the momentum rolled it over further onto the mirror that the mirror plastic gave way. I strongly suspect that if I had the rear bar it might well have been enough to stop it falling over further.

Sicman I see you have the BFG KM2's sitting in the corner ready to go on the ST.......they will be great in the black soil if you keep the rev's up to clear the tread block :p
That black soil if you stick by it in the dry it will stick by you in the wet.......

The American police mainly California had a private company whose name eludes me produce crash bars for the ST1100, I contacted them about purchasing some but was told that they did not produce them anymore and the ones that were on the bikes got scrapped.
Although I guess if you knew a good metalworker they could knock some up with the right measurements, see photos.
