As many of you know, my biggest "hobby" is driving my daughter Danae (Blue Owl) to hockey training and games. She has been selected for the third year running to represent the NT at the National Championships.
This year, the championships are being played on the Gold Coast. If ant of our SE Queensland members have some time to spare over the next 10 days, coupled with an interest in hockey, Nae would love to have an Ozstoc cheer squad at some of her games. I'll post details of when she'll be playing as they become available.
First game is this Friday Saturday vs WA at 11am

Go Danae, GO DANAE !! I'm cheering as loud as I can :runyay

I'll remind her to log into the forum so she can respond for herself :Blow

I will join the sideline cheer squad to keep Pockey under control. If you get to play the ACT I may have to consider my loyalties >:()

I'm not sure where she gets to play next year, they move around every year. She goes up a grade into the Under 18s next year.

woot well done!

Congrats Danae, I'm sure you'll do well :thumbsup

U18s is getting into the serious side of things, so hope Danae still enjoys it. Who knows where it will end :clap

She hopes to play for the Hockeyroos one day, and her other ambition is to be a sports physio. Hopefully she manages to reach her goals

Those goals seem very good. Sports physio sounds a good professional choice, the Hockeyroos a great ambition regardless :thumb

I was just chatting to Brrookester. He's ridden his baby KLR650 from Yeppoon to Caboolture today and is continuing on tomorrow morning to Keith Hunt Park in Labrador to watch Blue Owm (Danae) in her first game of the tournament. I sure he'd appreciate company if anyone's interested. Be great to give him an escort of real bikes ;-*
Sorry Brookester, couldn't resist the dig.... :rofl

Brookster can handle the truth :rofl
I was nearly going to be up in Qld for the Nebo RTE tomorrow, but the bike is in for a major service and I put off picking it up until Saturday. Just mucking around today with another bike that might just disappear on a few IBA runs very soon, so priorities......

I understand priorities Saaz. The reason I'm not there watching her myself is I chose to go to Toowoomba instead

He's a good Uncle Brookester. Nae is looking forward to seeing him again :grin

1-3 loss to WA today, but Brookester tells me Nae played really well. Nae was thrilled to have her own cheer squad :hatwave
-
Even if you team does not win, always good to play well yourself. :thumb

Hmmm, go out of your way to offer support and whilst unable to reply get the absolute p*&s taken out of me... :OldMan
Well the trip was worth it...Little Blue Owl played a great 1st game against a much bigger and stronger opposition and I am sure she will truly enjoy this tournament for all it's worth :runyay
The baby bike did alright too, 4 x 315km stretches without stopping, amazingly comfy for such a small bike :rockon
Till the next adventure :beer

The girls played their last game today, playing off for 11th and 12th against the ACT. They've played really well for most of the tournament but hadn't managed a win until today. You can imagine their excitement when they won 2-0 :runyay :runyay
