Spanner and I have both registered. Is anyone else interested in joining us for lunch at The Chalet?

Teela and I are working on being there, we are just waiting on a couple of things to fall into place....

Planning an FR12Gold.

JC
Are you doing the there and back in one day or are you doing the 1000 before check in and staying the night?
I will be doing the to-and-fro back to Tsv same night.
Can't quite get the full ticket-o-leave from the minister.

Hello Spanner
I went down and back on the same day last time and was planning for that again, as it saves us a lot of drama with pet feeding.
My actual route this time is still open to negotiation. If our mate and/or my cousin in Baker's Creek (they live about 100m apart, from what I've been told) are going to be around, we can factor in a southern loop from Eungella, before coming North again.
I had a pair of HID driving lights on my CBR1000F, last time, but the ST1300 has nothing, yet. How are the lights on your 1100 for early morning/night riding?
PS: I believe that I saw you lane filtering between some cars on Bayswater Road this morning, but refrained from beeping the horn and waving in case someone mistook it for road rage.

hey JC & spanner
... you do know that we are about five houses away from your mate and/or cousin in Bakers Ck? Just across the other side of the Bruce Hwy, if you can spare the time.
Cheers. John & Kate.
-
Yes John and I hope you realise that you are "our mate" in Bakers Creek.
From the discussion we had in Macca's, I recall that you are just down from Temple's lane opposite the golf club, but I don't know your actual house number.

yes that would most likely have been me. were you in tintop or bike?
I do soooo love the lane filtering law as it allows you to get in front of those smelly diesel 4x4's

If they leave a big enough gap. The fourbys tend to fill most of the lane.
And the height and width of our mirrors doesn't help. :||||

It was actually a "resin" top Daihatsu Feroza that day. The bikes are blocked in by Andrea's car and I usually take the Feroza to save the motorcycle tyres from getting flogged around town.
Have you had anymore thoughts on how to get to Eungella and back?
Regards
John

Hello John
Will you be working on 30 May, or available to meet up with us for the lunch at Eungella?
Regards
John

I'll be at work (fuel tanker driver) until 4pm 29th & don't have to go back until 7pm 30th... so lunch up at The Chalet would be a good chance to catch up.
Diesel may be stopping at home on the 29th, so we will probably ride up with him... & maybe back down to Bakers Ck with you & spanner... we're flex, see how it goes.
Cheers. John & Kate.

Hi guys,
See you all there.
-
Looks like it should be an OZSTOC shirt day out, since they won't do a FarRider's shirt.
The previous Eungella FR was marked by a fair showing of The Shirt.

Yes, I was a FarRider before becoming an ST owner and recall the charcoal shirts were quite a standout. I thought it was great that OZSTOC were not just sheep in the paddock full of black shirts. That will gradually change as the newer shirts become more prevalent, though. I will be in my "old" shirt for some years, yet, as I have not found any particular problem with it.
It will be really good if my XXXL jacket arrives soon, as I have four rides on the calendar during the next five weeks.
Regards
John

Getting excited.
Fitted a new front tyre myself over the weekend but the rear has proved somewhat stubborn. Have had to take the wheel into the local dealers for a fitting.
The bloody robber charged me $40 !!!!!!! Just to fit the new tire.
I think that is OUTRAGEOUS.

I am in Walgett tonight, easy run to st George tomorrow morning for a start docket, ride finishing at eungella where I am staying overnight. Then to decide how to get back buy late Tuesday at the latest

That sounds cheap!
I believe that the bloke in Broome was charging $100 for tyres, as he is the only shop with a motorcycle tyre changer. It stops people buying cheap tyres on the internet and only using him for fitting. $50 for riveted drive chains was another big ticket item.

Thanks John & Kate for being the official photographers for FarRiders and coming along. I will post up some happy snaps when I get home - made it to Urunga today from Bundaberg, far less fun riding into colder weather than the other way around >:()

Some tourist photos. I got Neville (Capt Thunderbolt) with his bike. For those who might be thinking of staying up there, room 15A at the pub is a large en suite room with a window overlooking the lawn and escarpment. I took the sun rising photo from the room.
At Lightning Ridge they have put bitumen down around the monument, so nowhere near as much fun parking in the muddy clay...
