Hello fellow riders,
Still looking for an ABS competent mechanic to diagnose & repair the ABS on my bike. Preferably one in Brisbane. Hopefully not one of the big dealers but if a mechanic that works for them and is looking for work after hours. Not sure where to start with this one and have been advised by an Admin to start here so here goes.

Obvious things to check are the wheel sensors for dirt, damage, the wiring and the sensor to ring gap. Incorrect tyres might even upset the system though as yet mine hasn't had an issue when running the 1300 rear.
Here's the section of the manual dealing with the earlier ABS system so you might be able to run through and find the possible fault.

Hi Alan, many thanks for the reply. I have bought a manual for the 1994 ST1100 but not being mechanically minded am very loath to even attempt this sort of fault finding. I did manage to change a cigarette power adapter over to a double USB for phone charging but with the wiring and panels put myself into all sorts of bother and 4 hours of tearing out the hair. I don't mind paying somebody here in Brisbane to look, diagnose and repair / replace but this is not in my level of expertise or should I say experience. I have only had the bike since December 2014 and still finding my way.
many thanks
