My Narva 85203A Amber LEDs have finally arrived from Redline (Half the price of the Auto stores). Brackets have been manufactured, mounting holes drilled and tapped. Now the wiring to do. Photos later. there will be four 3LED light heads to the rear and two on the front. Currently programmed into two groups,. so the flashes will alternate.
I may at a later date fit another pair to each side. A short movie of the finished job will be posted.

And a circuit diagram, or will that be subject to patent rights?
-
And a circuit diagram as it applies to this LED set. The lights are able to be dimmed at night, and will be able to have the flash pattern changed as well.

With a parts list... :grin

Nup. Got socks. In pairs!
It's a parts list I'd be looking for. :grin

This is one of the six Narva 3LED modules.

The interconnecting loom, still under construction, and the site supervisor.

Still lots of work to do lots of wiring to be connected and plugs fitted.

Here is the circuit as applied to the 1100 police version, the 1300 should be the same.
Circuit removed for now, the is a fault in the main wiring diagram.
-
Very tidy diagram. Well done. Thanks for that.
-
It looks easier on paper, its a bugger to make, especially as I am spicing into the loom and heat shrinking every thing and putting plugs on it so broken LEDs can be easily replaced.
Cutting stripping twisting and crimping wire is wrecking my delicate hands and fingers.
o:) o:)
I will put up a generic diagram a bit later.
-
I used the number 6 momentary switch to change patterns.
:wht11
-
The number 3 will do that, (via relay), 1 will be fore and aft, 2 will be side (if I fit them )
-
Circuit removed for now There are some faults in the diagram, more research needed.
-
What are you stuck on? You shouldn't need a relay for any of the connections. What circuit have you removed?
Can I help?

You have a 5 year warranty on LEDs, I don't think you'll be replacing them anytime soon.

The relay is to allow the 3 switch to change the flash pattern, as the switch switches an earth(return). to change the pattern requires a 12V+ applied to the sync wire. If I apply an earth, the light will just dim.
The circuit was the wiring diagram, the original I was using had some errors that I need to fix before its republished

Got the strobes working on the rear, the are visible from quite a wide angle.

Looking good Brock, they won't miss you now.
:wht11

They have come up good, well done
-
All working now,
Note the prominent red and blue light on the dash ( its the SR10 ) that may be why cars get out of the way in the morning run up the freeway.

what is that noise?
-
Thats the ernwhistle flange, it needs more ear wax for lubrication.
Actually its a bloody cricket, noisy bugger aint it.
-
geeze mate, I would be tracking it down and putting a cracker up its you know what
-
I have been known to hunt and destroy crickets that get in the house and party at midnight, its the little ones that make the biggest noise.
-
Great job, however if it was me I'd go for the outside ones and alternate with the inside ones. A little more symmetrical. Just my 2c worth ;-*

-
Or I could have the sequence start from the right and not the left :crackup
These things are easy to change, but as long as the tin tops see them and dont hit me then all is good..
o:)
-
It looks good Brock. It seems like a pretty expensive project. My web crawl show the lights to be pricey.
Its come up well though.
-
The lights were about $53 each, by the time you add in wiring, crimps, connectors, heat shrink and time to construct plus misc other bits it does get costly. But heck, its a farkle..

or perhaps these, they seem very similar a bit different in wiring..

Looks awesome, I found some nice Amber LED strobes on Ebay, that filled the holes in the side of my ex police st1300, connected to switch 3, about $20ea delivered.

Good find.... :OldMan :well :well
Why didnt you find them earlier, I could have saved a fortune

But aren't yours programmable, and able to be linked and controlled by the program of one?
-
Yep, and it sounds like these do the same thing.
Probably a knock off of the Narva units.
-
But yours are from Australia with a 5 year warranty, those are from HK with a I don't speaky English warranty.
:wht11
-
Very distinctive and highly visible... I like!
-
Well, I ordered 4 of the ones from China and they arrived today. Not what I wanted for the side of the bike, as they are not the low profile ones.
They are very bright but, maybe able to use them some where else.
-
Brock, were these the ones kimbosarnie mentioned off e-bay?
-
Yes, thats the ones
-
I know I'm rubbing salt into a wound but I just bought 6 for $10 each. :grin
-
I want to mount stop/tail and indicators on my antenna bar.
Where did you get them from Totgas?

My strobe tail light was from Code3 in the US. I would recommend purchasing 1 from China these days 80% the quality and 400% cheaper. The indicator lights are just Amber LEDs like the ones indicated off e-bay in this thread (you just set them up not to flash). When mounted just wire them up to come off your back lights. The draw for LEDs is minimal and shouldn't effect anything. (although I am led to believe that any LEDs on the bikes harness will effect the MC Cruise - not sure why)

Thanks.

from another post:
MCCruise warn of an issue when using led brake lights, you would have to check with them to see if what you are using would interfere. The 3 way Hyperlight from MCL is safe to use with CANBUS (does not affect most of us) and ABS. I have been using some led brake lights on both the 1100 and 1300 (mounted in the top box) without issue for some years now. I originaly checked with MCCruise about my set up and was informed that I would be ok and that has been the case. I am of the opinion that there would only be a concern if you replaced the normal brake light bulbs with led replacements and no diode in the line, but then again I really have no idea except what has worked for me.
You are correct with the tap of the brake and the MCCruise turns off, I think the issue was that the leds did not send the correct signal back to the control to actually turn it off, which is what Biggles was saying, again I could be wrong >:()
-
As an electronics electronics technician, my guess is LED only brake lights would not draw enough current to disengage the McCruise.
LEDs in parallel to standard brake lights, more current will be drawn, so it shouldn't effect the McCruise.
-
Sounds like a plausible explanation to me.
I also know replacing your indicators with LEDs is not a good thing unless you compensate for the flasher can going ballistic.

-
I cant see how LEDs could affect the operation of a cruise control, as the cut out would be looking for a "high" signal when brakes are applied.
Wait a minute, just a thought... when power isnt on the brake light, there would be a low at the sensor (ground), an LED might not provide that.
Electronics can be a confusing art.
-
Ya got it on one Brock, that's exactly the problem. MC Cruise actually have a couple of different fixes to allow you to use LED taillights, available on their website.
Cheers
