Title: air intake scoop
Post by: hobs on March 03, 2012, 08:19:39 AM
Can anyone tell me, (better still, show me pictures) of where the air intake pipe fitted on the right side upper fairing goes? Pulled all the plastic off and the air hose off this scoop was sitting against the exhaust shield cooking nicely. Danged if I can find where the hose connects to. It has tabs like it is supposed to go somewhere. Looked everywhere to make it fit, but still can't see where.

1100 or 1300

If its the 1100, its purpose seems to be to direct cool air to the fuel inlet to the carbies (probably to get rid of vapour lock problems on hot days) It shouldnt go anywhere near the exhaust.

The hose points towards the vacuum fuel tap. There is a tab in the air filter housing that the slot on the hose goes over.

Well done Saaz,

Checked it out and found the 'tab'. Would not have noticed it (well, didn't actually) without your help. It is an 1100 and the air hose was laying under the engine head touching against the heat shield. Even I knew that was not right, but certainly had me bamboozled (when was the last time you heard that word, must be showing my age) as to its right location.
Thank you, one and all.
