Whilst not an ST, the bike's been mentioned on the site before so thought I'd ask the question.
I purchased a 2nd generation CF Moto TK, which is alleged to have had the 1st generation issues sorted...... it hasn't. There was apparently an issue with the panniers previously so CF Moto had added latched made of plastic with a single spring mechanism. Whilst the panniers are locked and therefore will no open, the bike has a bit of vibration compared to the smooth riding ST. What the happens is the plastic latch open within a few minutes of riding and then you constantly get friendly drivers flashing or informing you whilst riding.
Other than putting a bit of black tape on the latch, does anyone have any thoughts on possible fixes? Only does it on one of the panniers! Image attached below.

Interesting! On their website they show the rear of the 2014 model without hinges yet these were, as you say on the 2nd generation or the 2014 model.

Despite that, I think the answer is obvious, the latches are in the wrong place. The minimum amount of force required to lock two hinged objects together is the furthest distance from the fulcrum (or the hinge). Therefore, like the ST, the latch should be at the top. Add to that the lateral forces experienced by a bike when going around corners I'm not surprised the latch pops open. The covers are more than likely flexing. Is it the right one?
OK, you say the cover is locked, then the purpose of the latch is what?
If it attempts to stop the pannier from flexing, then it obviously doesn't work especially at the rear where the pannier is much wider.
If it annoys you that much, you could make the latch ornamental by removing the spring and the clasp from the lid and fixing it in the closed position. Wouldn't move then, and there is one at the front still.

Had the same problem with ours. I elongated the mounting holes and slightly moved the catch. I think making it tighter. I can investigate if you like and get back to you.
Great bike by the way but rather let down by parts service lost a mirror cover on the way to Toowoomba, ordered it straight away and only came in this week.2 Months!
