Title: No Mirror Covers - High Flash Rate

With my Mirror Covers removed for some maintenance, and therefore no front indicators, I note that the flash rate has significantly increased. If I need to ride the bike with the mirror covers off, am I likely to harm the flasher relay or any other component?

Post by: saaz on June 08, 2015, 12:03:53 PM: I don't think so. It would be faster as the load is less. Perhaps less load reduces any stress from quicker flashes? Plugging in a trailer does not seem to adversely affect the flasher unit.

Not legal, you could get a red canary.... (Defect Notice) could involve a fine, demerit points and expense and time for visit to inspection station for removal...

I've taken all the bodywork off to save me a few dollars on a major service by the dealer this week. However, since I'm taking my now naked ST own there during peak hour, I've put the covers (and indicators) back on for the journey. I was simply exploring ideas and options.

No engine rebuild required, but the HD's clutch was being repaired today. :||||
