Title: Best way to climb Mt. Everest?
Post by: JuST Peter on June 08, 2015, 05:49:34 PM
A BETTER and safer way to ‘climb’ Mount Everest:

Keep an eye on the elevation on the left side of your computer screen and then move your mouse slowly at the end to see a 360 view.

I can't imagine how anyone can do that climb without supplementary oxygen.  I climbed Mt Wilhelm in PNG- 14800 feet, and I was struggling with altitude sickness from 13000 feet onwards.

But if they acclimatise for long enough, wouldn't that increase their ability to withstand the higher altitudes without needing the oxygen supplement?

They would, however that is going to take a minimum of 52 days. Oxygen is so much easier, however I have heard that Everest is littered with empty oxygen bottles.
