My worst nightmare, as on the bike you cant get out of the way using reverse.

Sitting in this chair, it looks like he could have pulled off a sharp right turn to avoid.
I can't get my head around the tintop drivers who pull up a half a car length (or more) over the stopline at traffic lights.  Why is that necessary?  Maybe in this case the noddy was on a right turn and stuck in the traffic, needing to get back.  If so, the rider should have noted the reversing lights.
In any case, the dismount was pretty nifty!    :grin

That's one determined noddy!  Couldn't stop at the first crunch.      :fp

The rider appears to be sitting with the clutch held in, so if he was really quick he may have been able to escape.   However it all happened pretty quickly and the wide angle lens exaggerates the distance between bike and car.

The half-wit in the car needed to gun it a bit to get right over the bike. :eek  Busted legs for sure if the rider had not stepped off.

Here's the text from the Youtube site:

"Original description: Driver with learner's permit has ended up in the middle of the intersection after failing to stop in time for a red light. She then proceeded to reverse, but changed from the left lane to the right and accelerated."

Wonder if she passed her driving test ???  :eek

Poor rider was probably too shocked seeing the tintip reversing towards him so fast - just about all he could do was jump off at the last moment !

With tintop drivers like that, you could be driving a TANK and they'll still hit you !   :||||

Many decades ago, was driving an M-113 from the old depot in Midland to Karakatta barracks and some idiot in a Holden station wagon tried to pass us from behind on the left hand side at merging lanes going over the causeway from the Victoria park side towards the city.
Never heard or felt anything sitting in the drivers seat of the M-113 - first thing I knew about it was when the crew commander started yelling at me something about running over a car by that time we where half way over the causeway, stopped at Heirrison Island.  :crazy
The traffic police turned up at our barracks later that day to investigate.  :law :law
That was a lot of fun - so was the driving control test our CO insisted the two police officers go with me on - to prove how well I could drive and control a M-113.
Ever see one do a 'nose stand' ???   :crackup
At 12 mph, grabbing the pivot brakes, pumping them once, then jamming them on full force, locks up both tracks, the rubber pads on each link of the tracks grabs the black top, no forward sliding & the forward momentum makes the beast pivot up and stand on its nose.
Any more the 12mph & the beast will flip up and all the way over onto it's top.
Lovely bit of flat blacktop right outside the CO's window - 12mph, quick pump and jammed on the pivots ! UP we went ! Vertical - WHEEE ! FUN ! (both the lovely policemen where standing up in the back with the cargo hatch open & their heads and shoulders out)
Told they where both quite green in the face and shaking a bit when they got out afterwards.   :grin :rofl

You've got to have as much fun as you can - whenever you can !   :hatwave  ( ESPECIALLY when it's the governmint that is footing the bill for everything ! )

OPPPPS !  SORRY about that little oversight.
After spending so much time in the army - sometimes forget that other people have been those strange things called 'civilians' all their lives.  :-[
My bad !  :spank

Would have posted a pic of my 'personal' M113 but my 'EX' burnt all my photos, papers, medals, etc. after I divorced her. ( it was worth it !!! )

The Oz version was a little bit different to the Yank version - pic attached of Oz version from 3rd Cav. Regiment. Oz Army.
Main differences where - fold out 'bow plane' for swimming, fulling enclosed commander's gun turret with either twin .30 cal Brownings or 1 X 50 cal & 1 X 30 cal Browning MG. combo.
First ones we got from the Yanks had petrol engines - soon swapped those out for pressurized V-6 GM diesel engines.
Fires starting up when your inside your armoured fighting vehicle are not much fun.  >:()

Now the thread's completely hijacked, I might as well ask, how do you sight a gun like that in a turret like that?  Or do you just spray lead in the general direction of the target?

My old boss produced a report once, that was so full of military and police acronyms that it was unreadable, a very clever page almost full of just letters.  He did it to make a point, and it bounced back down the chain of command so quickly that it was hard to believe it ever left his desk. He had the replacement report, without the acronyms, sitting there waiting to go.

I know a few of them, but definitely not all.  I only worked for Defence for 8 years, 17 years ago
