Title: Throttle Palm rest
Post by: George Schultenkamp on June 11, 2015, 10:24:35 AM
Has anyone got experience with the throttle Palm rest gadget (can't find a better term for it)? Pls. refer attached photo. It was installed by the previous owner.
I just came back from a ride and somewhat my hand got stuck on that thing (glove or clumsiness  :-[. I was in first gear and the bike lurched forward quite dramatically. There was no traffic in front of me so, no dramas.
Any thoughts ( apart from reminding me of my clumsiness... WOW:)?

It looks like this http://www.crampbuster.com/how-motorcycle-wrist-rest-can-relieve-fatigue/ (http://www.crampbuster.com/how-motorcycle-wrist-rest-can-relieve-fatigue/) but I just use a throttle lock (poor man's cruise control) instead.

Have used the cramp buster on the last 2 ST's and they work fine for me....with yours, slide it to the extreme right of the bar grip as they are designed to just rest the very outside of your palm under your little finger and not the middle of your palm......that may have contributed to your moment  :think1

Cheers

Thanks Chris, you are correct. Mine was not correctly positioned. I have taken your advice and go for a ride  :runyay

I have used the crampbuster on the ST for around 12 months without any hassles.. had one fitted to my previous Bol'Dor (2008) until someone removed/stole it. Swear by them, but as Chris noted, it's positioned on the wrong part of the grip.

I have used this since I got Triple B.

I like it because I can take my whole hand of the right side to allow full flexing and refreshment whilst still riding.

I love it.

Very much similar to a throttle lock ..... but possibly cheaper????
