I received this email from a Honda rider in NZ......anyone able to assist ??
Hi,
An Ozstoc club member gave my partner and I the Oztoc business card when he and partner were travelling in NZ late March this year. We meet the ST1300 riders while over-nighting in Tekapo. Feel a bit bad that I don’t remember their names. They told us about the Ozstoc club. My partner rides an ST1300 and I ride a Honda NT700 Deauville.
I am contacting the club to ask for some help. Please read on and let me know if you and or committee are able to circulate my request or provide alternative advice.
Thanks
Linda
I am buying a bike from Hamilton Victoria and need a ride (pillion ride is OK) from Melbourne to Hamilton (300km).
Am looking doing this sometime between 17th and 20th July.
Can any of your members help. I’m not too heavy – 64kg and travel super light – 1 pannier bag.
Background.
Am purchasing the bike to be my replacement bike. Few weeks back I was rear-ended on motorway by a car doing 90km. Driver of car hadn’t noticed all the traffic had slowed to 50km. Although I was ambulanced away and checked for spinal and internal injury, I am amazingly OK. My pride and joy bike however was written-off. Honda NT700 Deauvilles, have never been imported into NZ by traders so are hard to come by. Hence why I have found what I want in Australia and although I am prepared to pay the additional freight, import and goods tax, am trying to find ways to keep the costs down e.g. delivering bike myself to Melbourne Freight company and hitching ride to Hamilton.
I am prepared to pay fuel costs. Or I can offer one night accommodation (for up to 4) in my Queenstown holiday apartment in NZ within next 12month period.

My guess the members who deserve a pat on the back for ST-STalking are either Denis & Diane or Neil and Val...... :-++ Well done guys

Unfortunately those dates dont work for me, however there is always public transport (vline).
Southern cross station melbourne to hamilton via train to ballarat, then coach to hamilton 4hrs 18 min $34.80 plus the cost from the airport to southern cross(skybus) $18.

Chris, I might be able to help with this. I dont understand your second post. Does that mean it is sorted?

I think the second post refers to handing the OzSTOC card to Linda in NZ

Thanks Brock. Der. I should have seen that.

Big thank you to OzSTOC.
Garry (Poppeye) got me to Hamilton where I picked my new bike up. Then rode across to the RTE at Swan Reach where I met more club members. Am enjoying Australia and wish I was staying longer.
Hope I can return the favour for people visiting NZ.
Ciao

NZLinda,
Might I suggest you put a posting in the Bed Shed & get Fed thread. (I'll put the approximate location on the RTE map Need, Shed & Fed layer)
I know Brock and his wire are planning a visit this time next.
I have a brother in Waiuku, so my wife and I pop across the ditch from time to time.
Really glad to hear you are enjoying your time here.
Thanks to Poppeye for helping out. :claphands

Linda, It was lovely to met you at Swan Reach, and we trust you enjoy your rather short visit to Australia. You'll fit in well at any gathering of the OzSTOC loonies if and when you find you way back to Oz. :thumb
