I've heard that some riders use sheep skin covered seats. Can you please advise your experiences with these?
I would suspect that they are comfortable but what about when they get wet?
-
Sheepskins are pretty comfortable, and help with the seal between the tank and seat which can help with heat from that area. I forgot to take mine off on a really wet day, and it took many days to dry out properly. If you get one, take it off in the wet.

I find using one takes away a few of the vibes and makes the seat more comfortable. Take it off in the wet.

I use one from here. Its now 5 years old and just like new. It fitted the OEM seat and now fits my Sargent seat. Great comfort. It comes with a rain cover or just remove if it is gunna get really wet. Your arse will appreciate this purchase :-)

I thought that the sheepskin is firmly tacked to the seat? Or are they just attached with rubber bands?
-
Elastic type straps that secure under the seat and wing straps on the sides of the ST1300 seats. They dont move around

We made this one a few years ago. Not perfect but it does the job. Heather said it was a goat skin and it sits on top of a gel seat. We haven't done any longish rides with it yet but this years border ride will change that.

I had a custom fitted one made here in Brissy some years ago. Feels great but doesn't make much difference in term of making the OEM seat any more bearable. Concur with everyone else. Take it off in wet weather.

I have been using Sheepskin covers on various bikes since the early 2000's . . . Always buy them from The GoodWool Store in Berry . . They ship anywhere and I always buy the raincover to suit . . Keeps the sheepskin dry in rain . . I also use the raincover on the bike if parked out at night . . Keeps the dew off the seat . . . . I find they add an element of comfort and I use it year round . .
