Title: Labour day week end Monday, October 3 4 5, 2015 north Qld

We would like to travel to a destination around Cairns / Table lands ,  if north or Mackay/ Whitsunday  if south from Townsville , does any one have a plan? hope fully for an over nighter   thankyou :)

 :think1... if i take the 5th Oct off... then we could make the trip up to Cairns as well... we would ride up on the 2nd Oct, stay at the Tropical Queenslander as usual, ride around the Tablelands & coast for 2-days & then ride home on the 5th Oct...

a 4-day Cairns trip is a regular treat for us... & we seem to discover new things each time.

Hi guy, just a suggestion, you could always do the 4 ranges, up one down the other, say up Mossman, down kuranda up the Gillis down the Johnson.

you're right on the money Sabie... the roads up & around the Cairns coastal ranges & the Tablelands are, the Far North's version of, bike riding heaven... except when it's wet - then it becomes truly exciting.

No problem, I lived in Townsville and moved down to the Sunshine Coast in February this year. Loved the area.

Sounds great count us in, if you decide to overnight in Townsville, you are more than welcome to stay with us on the Townsville Charters Towers road at Oak valley from the south come via Giru Woodstock road, a lovely traffic free country road that we travel often.

Hi Marty,
I'm in atherton but not sure if i'll be free that weekend or not with the arrangements with my kids possibly changing at the moment, but if you let me know what your movements are closer to the date I might be able to join you for a days riding...  Your also welcome to stay the night if its my weekend without the kids :-)

I need to check what's happening that weekend, I do have some SES training courses around that time I'll check out the dates. The Monday is my birthday so, as is my custom, I will be taking an accrued time day off work.

I could well still be riding around that weekend in the Cairns area if anyone just happens to be here...  ;-*  ++

Hey Craig,

  Kate and I will be riding up on the 1st of October and have to head back home to Mackay on the 4th. We'll be around and about on the 2nd and 3rd, if you and Leonie want to meet up for a ride or a curry... or both.

  Sadly, I can't get the 5th off work.
