I get my daily ST buzz reading the OzSTOC Forum. There's always something going down worth reading about- e.g. Streak's desertion. :-(((
Then I fuel the buzz by commenting on someone's post that I know a little about.
Another way to add fuel to the fire is to share some news of general interest I've found on the web with other ST owners- e.g the ALDI sale.
There's always tales of derring-do in the Ride Reports.
And then there's the excitement in the lead-up to the Annual National Rally.
All these contribute to making this Forum my first stop on the digital highway each morning.
It's when I get to share one of the great motorcycling books in my library in the hope the excerpt inspires someone else as much as it did me.

Many years ago I took my Dad to an Adelaide Motorcycle Show, and while tyre kicking at the then new Honda ST1300 I said to him and said “That's my dream bike, and I'll have one one day” Well, my dream came true after a catastrophic failure of my Yamaha in Cairns in 2009 during my first long tour. I instantly fell in love with the bike on my 10,000km ride home. I quickly became involved with OzSTOC via the Forum and, then attended the first National Rally in Blackheath. I have been overwhelmingly welcomed by a group of other passionate tourers and ST owners. Through OzSTOC I have made some wonderful long distance friends, have travelled extensively throughout Australia and been welcomed like family by OzSTOC members that I'd never met before. I have benefited so much from freely shared advice and information from experienced tourers, long distance riders, mechanical geniuses, and cunning farklers.
Thankyou to all of you, and I will continue to give of my energy and experience to this club, perhaps returning to others a little of what been given to me.
That's why I keep coming back to this great club. :hatwave

About 5 years ago having not motocycled for about 17 years I spotted a stylish looking Honda in front of a tiny 'Gong dealership. Dad was a servo owner and I learnt a lot about mechanics. Admiring the design and the transverse V4 and the shaft drive (previous bike was a Beemer Boxer 650), I sat and wondered when I would ride again. A mechanic/salesman said "This is the bike (white ST1100) I ride home every night - it just purrs and glides thru the night - the smoothest bike on the road". The seeds were sewn.
Three years later I had a work/alcohol related heart attack and retired from business, claimed Super and said 2 Mother Terese that I was going 2 buy a bike b4 it's 2 L8 and I went on the hunt 4 an ST. I went 2 the US site 4 info and was told that OzSTOC exists. Went there and was welcomed aboard. Found a bike on sale from Desty in BananaLand and rode home from the Gold Coast to The Gong. Found many "good-hearted" people with clever humour and helpful technical advice and anecdotes borne of gr8 experiences and adventures. These stories inspire me 2 get out and really xperience this vast, diverse land and 2 stay healthy.
I wear my OzSTOC jacket with aplomb and it matches my STylish STeed and the STandard of friendship in the club. Thnx STriders.
