Hi everyone,
After riding a Deauville 650 around the UK & Germany for 2 months on my restricted licence last year, I've upgraded the licence & decided to spend part of my redundancy on a '98 ST1100 I've seen at Team Moto. They are asking $4k with about 75,000 km on the clock. Seems reasonable.
Anything I should look out for?
I took in 4500 km on the little sister 650, and test riding the ST11 just felt right at home again. So I've just lost the last 6 hours researching & reading tales here in the forums, and I'm convinced I've made the right choice of bike.
I'm looking forwards to many more miles over many more years, and hopefully seeing some of you down the road.
At 5'5 I think I might have the seat adjusted a bit though. (Hence the Gnome, in Gnome-Adsett)
Thanks,
Reyn -Gnomad- Adsett

Oddly enough, a really nice ST1100 had come up for sale here with ABS and TCS:

Welcome aboard.
There's not really much goes wrong with the ST1100. You can read in here about the timing belt change, but yours is a long way off yet.
If it sounds nice and smooth, that's about as good an indication as you can get. Give it a bit of stick on the first accelerate of the day and listen for a rattly clutch basket. Apart from that, they're bullet-proof. The price is fair from a dealer. Don't fall for their "paid-for warranty". It costs more than most repairs.

Springwood. A silver one.
Looks to be in great nick. Needs a RH headlight bulb (unless it was modified to switch off one to save bulbs?)
Got Pan stickers. Even got a Pan European branded key. Farkles or imported?

There's also a nice burgundy ST11 at Olivers at moorooka

Not any more.
Now it's in my shed, waiting for a weekend ride :thumbsup

The silver one at Team Moto had the tupperware held on with zip ties, and the paint was cracked around the left fairing, and the left pocket wouldn't open.
The red one at Oliver's is much tidier, looks better maintained and had nice gold Pan Euro pinstipes.
Silver one had less miles but didn't look like it had been cared for as well, so I bought the red one today.
