Uh oh..... fortunately for me the other half came out of the lock before dropping off. Phew!
Now to source a blank and try putting the HISS chip in it.(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/02/d45d27651c6b773806b96f4f05d1a218.jpg)

Just keep the knob on the key ring
:popcorn
-
If you just cut off the rest of the metal off the key and keep the black bit on your key ring, as Brock suggests, the HISS chip should be detected by the chip reader. It is all done wirelessly.
-
As in "in close vacinity"?
-
Yeah, if it is on the same key ring as your new key without the chip, it should work,.
-
Bonza! Ta. :clap :clap :clap

Sort of- close vicinity will work. :grin
But seriously, it needs to be right down near the keyhole and not further away than normal.
-
I may have some spare keys here somewhere.. I'll check in the morning. I think they have room for the chip too..

Hi Diesel, no need, just order a new key off ebay, when it arrives get it cut and then follow the how to in the link below.

Problem solved. Blanks ordered, cut for 10 bucks each (had to haggle down from 50 bucks each though), & transponder transplanted as per Sabie's "how to'". Happy days.

I will see you $10, and raise yo to $0.0
I had 2 keys cut for the 1100, that I supplied. The guy refused to take any cash, also no responsibility if it didnt work..
