Title: New member - Canberra
Post by: steve salkeld on March 08, 2012, 02:20:31 PM
:rd13 Hello there, my name is Steve and I live on the south side of Canberra - not far away from the Monaro Highway where folks travel to the Snowies or down to the South Coast via Cooma.  I have owned my ST1300 for 5 years and have clocked up 108,000 ks. I used to work as a Business Analyst, but now am retired. I am a member of the Ulysses club and I will be attending this years AGM In Mildura. My longest ride was from Canberra to Perth and return 2 years ago.  Another long run was up to Townsville.  My folks live on the Gold Coast and have done a few night rides from home to there.  Usually commence at 02:00 and arrive on the Gold Coast just after lunch.  Now, that I have time on my hands, it takes me 3 stops - one in Mudgee, then Armidale, then down the hill to Coffs Harbour and onward to the Coast.  Have a cub trailer and do camping runs around the place.  Usually around April - June, I head down to Beechworth / Bright area and enjoy the high country pubs with their open fire places, pizzas and red wine. Cheers Steve

Welcome Steve, and ignore the Madhouse comment from the Taswegian. Its way worse than that, this asylum is run by the inmates.

 :grin :grin

One of the Nutters in here also has a tendency to smite ( :spank ) transgressorsso watch out for him.. :law

Hi Steve - nice to meet you.

You are blessed with having some of the world's great motorcycling roads just out your back door - but you knew this!

There are plenty of Canberrians aboard already - so it shouldn't be long before you are celebrating all things ST with a few like-minded folks. (Right saaz?)

Anyway mate - have a good look around and ask about anything you need to know? The collective brain power on this site could illuminate the sun for 197.8 years alone.

Cheers, Diesel

I am always up for a ride or just a maintaince day.  I am not a member of Ulysses as yet but know of a few who are, and are going to Mildura.  Once I get rid of this work nuisance thing I should be ok to organise things around here  :hatwave
