my daughter asks me up to “do a few jobs”
a garden shed
set of those el cheapo sheet metal shelves.
and a shelf.
Bad start, forgot 2nd tool box with drill charger and stud finder etc.
The garden shed was to go on pavers which were not level anywhere, so I had to make a frame to sit it on from timber. Unpacked shed and could not work out where the first sheet I picked up went. After spreading the whole thing over an acre I worked out it was an extra sheet. Is that worse than being one short? Battery went dead with 2 holes to go. Had to get another drill, my 240v drill at home was dying so I guess it was time anyway.
Moving on to the shelves. The box had been run over.
One end was flat so I had to panel beat each part to make it work.
Next the shelf. I could not find the wall studs. Wore my knuckle out. Had to go and get another stud finder. The wall was plaster over fibro, no wonder the stud was hiding. I managed to put one bracket on upside down.
Have now retreated home where its safer and cheaper.

Sounds like you need a beer, bex and a good lie down :rofl

Whoa! I can identify with most of that. :'(
Those studs can be real troublesome (and other less polite terms...)

I know the feeling
I have been helping my Daughter move house and then clean up the old house,
Lucky I only have 2 Daughters to keep me busy
Next day off I hope I can get a ride in for a bit of me time :grin

Hard to refuse those little love jobs for the family.
Even worse for a retired tradey, to have a previous customer ring last week and say "I called because you would know where the wiring is in the walls..." ( job dates back to 1991... hard to remember details of 24 years ago... )
