Title: FIRST AID COURSE SPECIFICALLY FOR MOTORCYCLISTS
Post by: Natman on September 04, 2015, 02:24:36 PM
Apols if this subject has already been mentioned by someone but with the increasing accidents involving motorcyclists nowadays I was wondering if anyone would be interested in attending a First Aid Course specifically for motorcyclists and first attendance at scenes of motorcycle accidents?  Accidents involving motorcyclists, whether in the right or wrong and are in the news every week.  They seem to the on the rise rather than fall.

I am making some initial enquiries with Royal Rehab in Ryde, NSW as they specialise in motorcycle, spinal/brain trauma and rehabilitation of patients, to see what they have available, but I think it would be a great idea to further everyones understanding of first aid, especially what to do if your first at the scene, when, how and why removal of helmets can/should be done with the correct knowledge.

The course would also be ideal for those of us who may be getting involved in Motorcycle Marshalling as you usually require some form of first aid qualification.  Certain club such a Ulysses also offer refunds of specific courses if your a member.

Just to get an idea of interest could you add your name to this forum and I'll update you all shortly.  If its already been done, just let me know and I'll remove the post.

Good idea! I've done first aid training in the Army and get CPR refresher courses every year at work. I think First Aid training should be delivered to everyone.
