Title: Vic road rules... News clip
Post by: Kev Murphy on September 15, 2015, 05:48:34 PM
A motorcyclist who was fined for wearing a Go-Pro camera on his helmet is fighting the charge in court.

Max Lichtenbaum will face Frankston Magistrates Court on Wednesday to fight the $289 fine and three demerit points he lost after being pulled over for not wearing an approved helmet in March 2014.

"We hope this test case will lead to an end in Victoria of motorcyclists being fined for attaching cameras and tinted visors to helmets to improve their safety while riding," Mr Lichtenbaum's lawyer Malcolm Cumming said in a statement on Tuesday.

We'll be eagerly watching for the outcome of that court case, given the "dogs breakfast" that is our National and State helmet Laws.
For a run-down on the extraordinary and confused state of our helmet laws, see the article on page 68 of Australian Motorcyclist Issue 31 (Sept 2015)

Duplicate is gone.

I personalty wouldnt put a Gopro on my helmet, as it sticks out like a speed brake and looks silly. I prefer the Ghost S

This magistrate would be the bottom of a sheep dip as he wouldnt know one end of a helmet to the back of a draft horse.
His mother must have been a mule and his father a donkey because he is certainly an ASS.
This should  be taken to the highest court in Australia.
All motor cyclist could dip in to help cover legal costs maybe.
Now Turvey will have to fit one on his Doggles
