Title: Townsville to Sydney. SS1600k
Post by: spanner on September 28, 2015, 10:39:37 PM
Well every sadness has a silver lining

My grandfathers funeral is late this week so I am on the big beastie tomorrow to clock up 1600 between Tsv and nambour.

My rout will be down the high way till near gin gin .... There is a turn off to  Biloela then through to Toowoomba with some funk doglegs work to get to the highway near nambour with the need to click up an extra 40 km to eumundi then back down to Forrest Glenn 24 hour servos.

Wish me luck

I then do a simple 1000 km to Sydney.

Now after Sydney I was thinking of visiting my nana in Canberra for a short cup f tea and the off!!!  Was hopeing t d a 2400 in 36.

And advice beteen act and Townsville?

Stay safe and enjoy.

Having recently come through Dubbo to Coonabarabran during daylight and seeing the fresh meat of the Newell butcher shop spread over most of that section, I would not do it at night.

Good idea to make those long rides into IBA efforts.  Make sure you focus on the two aspects separately- the original reason (in this case a funeral) and the IBA disciplined ride.
Just a note, its a BB2500, not 2400.  It would be a shame to pull up 100 kays short on a big effort like that.  It's actually not too demanding, with time for a good sleep built in.  The SS2000 isn't so accommodating.
