I figured it was about time I donated Plasma again so with last Friday being a gorgeous day (even though it was a touch too warm for comfortable riding) I headed off for my appointment which was at 12.15pm.
The ride over was uneventful, (unlike last time) and I arrived with plenty of time to spare...
After donating and a few light snacks, I headed off on one of my favourite routes...the ride to Tarra/Bulga National Park.
This route takes you close to the Loy Yang Power Station so I thought my first stop (and a photo or two) would be at the lookout.
Unfortunately it was closed up so I continued on.

The road through to the National Park is a great biking road and is reasonably well maintained due to the road being used by the occasional logging truck and it also being a tourist road.
I've yet to see much traffic on this road and even though it was the start of a long weekend, I only saw a couple of cars...
I arrived at Tarra Bulga but didn't bother to stop as I wasn't interested in going hiking and I wasn't yet ready for a break so I continued on past the Inline Cafe.
After travelling a few k's down the Grand Ridge Road, I turned off down the very narrow Tarra Valley Rd.
This road is sealed but is barely wider than a single lane which made for some interesting moments when I encountered a few 4wds coming the other way.
One time I ended up stopped pretty much up against a tree to avoid an oncoming 4wd but it all ended up okay!

On this ride I didn't bother stopping at the Tarra Falls as I've been there a few times and posted up photos on a previous ride report.
Once I got to Devon Nth I got to thinking about traveling a different route home. I do get sick of the South Gippsland Hwy so I wondered if I could make my way via some back roads to Agnes Falls.
Now I knew some of these roads were gravel and normally I would avoid them but, what the hell, nothing ventured, nothing gained...lol.
I figured if they were too bad I could always turn around...
As it turned out, the gravel wasn't too bad, being fairly hard packed with just a light layer of sand & loose stones.
After what seemed like only a few k's I ended up back on a sealed road through Binginwarri but the seal was short lived with the road going back to gravel again shortly after.
Thankfully I didn't encounter any other vehicles while on the gravel and eventually I arrived at the Woorarra Rd intersection which is sealed.
From there it was a sealed road all the way to Agnes Falls.
After making use of the "long drop dunny" to rid myself of some of the excess water you're required to drink before a donation, I headed for the falls.
While it's only a couple of hundred metres away, I was soon soaked in sweat as it was pretty hot wearing my bike gear.
After taking a few pics it was time to head for home...
Although phone reception was nearly non existent, I figured I'd better send a text to Sue letting her know roughly where I was, just in case...lol.
Probably should have done that when I was leaving Traralgon...oops!

Feeling dehydrated from the heat, I made a brief stop at Foster to get a Big M, then it was back on the road...
With Sue letting me know she was having dinner with her sister, I arrived home to some peace and quiet, and decided it was takeaway for dinner...

All in all, it was a good day!
