Russell Day Long seat pics
« on: May 03, 2013, 07:44:41 PM »
So we have been thinking about a Russell Day Long seat.....but like anything they are rare to see up close and personal in Australia.....Our US counter parts all agree that these are the ducks guts.....expensive but soon forgot when you spend some time in it.

The Seat is made on your factory seat base and they are happy to adjust as required free of charge....but here lies the issue.....freight to and from the US if not right the first time.

My plan if we decide upon this path would be to purchase a second hand ST1300 seat in US and have them ship to Russell.......save some freight and keep my seat base.

So as I said these are rare in Australia.....well I found one today 30mins from home, I would choose another seat finish but here it is..........your thoughts ???

No we didn't, the owner keeps his bike at work but he wasn't there to chat with.....was very keen to throw it up on the centre stand and have a sit, but was never going to happen without consent.....left a Ozstoc card with my mb with his employer who gave us the ok to have a look at the bikel....hopefully if I can convince the owner I may be able to swap seats for 20 mins......fingers crossed.

But it looks seriously well made on the surface.

Cheers

Won't be much change from $650 for both seats by the time you take postage into account from the US.

Still haven't decided which way to jump, still want to chat with the local's.....the dollars don't concern me greatly, just wish to get it right first time.....we can still do 300k's in the first leg of the day on Factory seat, with Airhawks and sheep skin so no urgency.

Cheers

Gotta say... they look funny

But nicely butt shaped, hopefully for comfort.
Might look less odd in a different vinyl or leather.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
