Greetings from Coquitlam, BC
« on: July 30, 2013, 07:22:50 AM »
Hello Everyone,

My name is Gino and I live here in British Columbia, Canada. I ride a 2007 ST1300a (silver) and bought it brand new. I ride 6 months of the year (we get a lot of rain here and the temp drops down in the winter months) so no point in keeping the STeed insured all year round. I ride most every day either part way to work (I then jump on the other two wheeled machine - bicycle) or to work. I enjoy touring and plan at least one 10 - 14 day trip a year and some other extended long weekend trips. This thing called "work" gets in the way.

I look forward to being part of OzSTOC and learning and sharing more with all of you.

Cheers,
Gino

Hi Gino - welcome. Touring through Canada... Now that's something I'd like to do! While nothing like BC, I spent a year in Toronto without a bike wishing I had one. Please post lots of stories & pics of your travels.

Enjoy the community here.

Great to have a Canuk on board.  I looked at some of the Canadian scenery with Streetview while the Iron Butt Rally passed through the western area recently.  Magnificent country!
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Welcome from Far North Queensland Gino.

We get some cold temps here as well during winter.. it recently got down to 15 degrees celsius.. bwhahahahahahaha :crackup :rofl . We do get a lot of rain particularly in summer.
Some mates and I are planning to ride across Canada in 2015 (subject to finances), we are planning on hiring bikes in Seattle and head up to Canada where we would like to spend about 5 weeks travelling from BC to Quebec before dropping the bikes back in Boston. Hopefully this ride will happen but if it doesn't plan B is to ride around Australia.

Take care and enjoy the forum.

Welcome Gino, and if you're ever able to make your holidays in Aus, the South East of Qld and Northern New South Wales have great roads.  There's a few members in this area that would love to show you around.

Cheers,
