Well my trip started out with Grand plans, heading down to Inverell with my brother in law, we had never been riding together of any sort of distance so we had made plans on sunday to ride home the long way and just make a total bike riding weekend out of it.....this is how the weekend turned out....
We headed off from Toowoomba about 7am heading for Inverell, we were not doing the lunch, as we where going to see my cousin who Owns Vince Strang Motorcycles.
We did stop for a Coffee in Texas as we where in no rush
It was great riding weather and Kieren and i made the most of it and enjoyed a quick trip and we made inverell by 11am, here we are in front of Vince's Shop
Vince told us how good Copten Damn was so we decided to head out there for a look and some lunch, and we really recommend it is worth the time!
and the food is also good value and huge!
We did the ride back to the Fossickers Rest, and along the way we fueled up and picked up supplies (beer and the like), so we checked in, unpacked, and I got a phone call from ST2UP that i needed to take a photo of them riding in...so we dashed out there, and all we saw was chris, and for some reason, a slightly un-impressed pillion....i have no idea why....
So Keiren and i Cracked a Beer, and went to say hello to everyone
Shaking lots of hands and introducing Keiren to everyone, night time started to fall, and the Local Lions Club had dinner cooking away, and everyone weighed into the food, Diesel and i did our usual speeches, thanked the lions and the like, and we all settled into beers and chatter.
WARNING!! Much laughter and Presidential Speeches in this next section!!ok so you know how i said we bought beers? well we may have bought a bottle of absolute vodka as well, seeing this was as close as it would get to my bucks party, so with the help of Diesel and Keiren we proceeded to make merry......as the following pictures will elude to....
now numbers dwindled, and the level of "happiness" continued to rise (i have it on good authority that my last two drinks were a little "STRONG"), so for some reason i decided to give a speech, have a listen, and don't laugh to hard at my expense!
unfortunately i would like to tell you about the rest of the night, but i dont really have a clue, it apparently took 2 off duty ambo's to cart me to bed, Kieren barely slept as he didnt want to bring a broken groom home and have to face teela or my sister, so he stayed up checking on me...and me....well i snored like two oncoming steam trains, and awoke like the dead!
Even after bacon and eggs and a tea i had not improved!
Lucky i was able to hide up the back for the group photo....
i went back to bed for couple of hours, and finally around 10.30am we decided to hit the road, we didn't look any better...
I would like to say we had an amazing ride home, but instead we took the slab, and even then we stopped every 70km and it took us 5 and half hours to do the 350km to home!
so we did about 740km round for the trip, i got home briefly hugged teela and fell into bed.....and you know what, very satisfied from the weekend.
to sum it up, great roll out of people, i am glad i was able to let so many people laugh tell they just about fell down at me! and we are looking at booking out the caravan park for next year as the numbers where really good!
