Had intended to test ride one before I got my ST1300 but simply forgot. They are are certainly on my to consider list when two wheels are no longer an option.

There is an interesting article about them in the August Australian Road Rider. I think the demos are being sold off because of the relaese of the new model with some changes such as 15" wheels instead of 14" and bigger brakes. There is a large model range with prices that vary accodingly. One thing that is a little disappointing is the the luggage space is about the same as the new Goldwing.

I read the same article ,seam's can am are pushing hard to have them car licence approved.with a specific training course endorsement,they say the average car driver operates them better than bike riders ,as you steer them not counter steer them through a corner.

I would consider triking the ST first. The Wings, when they are triked look really nice.

On the Border Run, Wombat and I spoke to a guy riding/driving one to the border, he said it really has to be driven and is very hard work having to steer it through the corners, their intention was to camp 40k past Balladonia on Friday night, fell 100k short.
On our return from Border we passed them and they still had 100 or so K to go.

Had a loan of 1 for a weekend (did over 700kms) when they were first available here in SA from Bills, they are very similar to riding a sidecar. They have a lot of electronic goodies ie anti tipover, abs, traction control but from a standing start you can light up the huge rear tyre. I have said they are a hoot to ride but if you want to scoot through the twistys on 1 they take a lot of physical input to do so, as they don't lean it feels like it wants to throw you off, they appeal to a lot of folk who for one reason or another can not ride a regular bike and don't realize the effort needed to "play in the hills". However if you were not a twisty type rider then probably ok.

Yep, I'd heard it feels unnatural to a bike rider, since like a car, they lean the wrong way.  If the electronics are there to protect you, then you can't even raise a wheel like you can on a sidecar outfit.
If Polaris/ Can-Am or whoever is trying for a car licence approval then it's an attempt to defeat the stalled market they have experienced.
