Went to Canberra for a Wedding this weekend, and Growly lent me his "contraption" to go to the wedding on.....



2.0L Skat engined Trike


Nearly outshone the bride I tells ya!       


Next day we went riding through the Uriarra Forest, and out to Tidbinbilla Tracking Station for lunch on his machines.....

A great day out. Weather was brill. Nice riding a gutsy twin too.


Only had 30 hours there and 8 of those were sleep.

PS - should have added - the Trike takes some getting used to....


It has a car-style clutch pedal, a motorcycle throttle, a foot brake (right foot), and a 4 speed "H" pattern box shifter that comes out under your left leg (see top pic).

You should have gone to the RTE at the Grey Gum cafe instead.  If all us other Ozstoc members were around you could have had a ride on a real bike

There's a lot to be said for riding other bikes.  Makes you appreciate your own all the more.  The trike would have been a trick to ride with that configuration.  It would be like learning to drive a gear shift car all over again.

The last time I rode another bike I found it better than what I have!  Considering it was 17 years newer design and 208,000kms younger I suppose that is to be expected, but not always...

Wow!! What a great opportunity...you got trusted with a trike.
1st thing that came to mind was the chorus to the newcastle song by Bob Hudson...never let a chance go by...
Ive never been a big fan of swapping or lending bikes but there are the select few that you would trust with your prized posession.
One such i got an opportunity to ride my 1st Ducati....up over the burringbar range before there were speed cameras...another was my mates son in law let me have his gixxer for a day while he rode a borrowed R1...now THAT was trusting...anyhoo I digress...this is about Diesel and his trike hike

I've always been willing to hand over the ST to others that I'm riding with, as I believe that swapping bikes is part of the motorcycling experience.  Recently I've ridden a Honda VFR800 and 1969 Triumph.   Both were a great experience but different ways.    However, in over 20,000 km of riding with my mates with Harleys, neither of them have been prepared to do a swap, so I've never had a chance to find out what all the Harley fuss is about.

Growly cautioned that: "from where you sit on it... forwards looks like a bike, but make sure you allow for the huge outrigger wheels behind you!"

It handled like a go-kart, doesn't lean, and was very different to keep the front wheel directly in the middle of my lane of the narrow and winding forest roads.

Great to be naked again though!
