Newbie from Tas
« on: October 08, 2013, 01:04:31 PM »
Hi all
Thought I had better introduce myself. I am Michael from Launceston Tasmania. I bought a blue 05 ST back in 2009 after 30 years without a bike. My last machine was Suzuki 250 trail bike, a much different ride (from what I can remember). My better half and I have recently returned from the Black Dog Ride to Alice Springs. We also rode around some of SA on the return, then along the Great Ocean Road. Had a great trip, meeting a lot of like minded people and seeing a wide variety of scenery in our fantastic country. We are looking forward to some good riding weather to do some trips around Tassie. We hope to meet some of you when we are out and about. Looking forward to perusing the forum.  :blu13

Welcome to the fray.  If you have a look at the Member Map you'll see there are a few Taswegians down south as well as our Burnie friend.
Start planning to take the ST over the water again in March next year.  Ballarat is the destination for the National Run, and it's always huge.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Hi mmccarthy and welcome aboard.

Should be some Tassie rides coming up shortly to meet some of the South Island contingents.

Love Lonnie - and there are plenty of great roads leading to and from it to discover on your wonderful ST (but you already KNEW this).     :wink1

Cheers, Diesel
