Discerning Maggie
« on: December 10, 2013, 10:12:40 AM »
Here's a young feller with taste.  My visiting Maggie feels right at home on an ST.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

"Funny" you should say that!  Makes me think it's not a "he" after all.

Confirmed by her tendency towards the pillion seat:

That would be "Butcher Bird".
A "Magpie" is quite different, as the photo clearly shows.    :Stirpot

Thanks for the more specific identification.   And just to set  the record straight, the other is a White Backed Australian Magpie, as distinct from the Black Backed sub-species.

I don't give wild birds a ride on my bike,  only the odd stray pussy.

I'm a bit of an animal sometimes - and I ride my bike - does that count?

Darn, and I've been conversing with her in my fluent "Magpie".
No wonder we have been at cross purposes.

I called her "Butch", so she said, "Move over, I'm driving..."

Since the Header says "Magpie", I thought I'd better show they visit also.
