A Stack of Smoke at the Gong - What a BLAST!
« on: February 20, 2014, 03:51:02 PM »
G'Day STriders,

Here's a buncha-pix taken from Mt.Kembla about 7km up the escarpment looking down at the Southern Copper Stack destined 2 b destroyed 2day due 2 excessive concrete cancer and disuse 4 the last decade. According to the local ABC this is the is the tallest (200m) structure 2 b destroyed in Oz.
These photos were clipped from the video I took this morning - a beautiful day in the Gong and Wyvern was hanging out 4 a ride.

Saw it on Channel 9 just now.  Brilliant how they contain the destruction to a small area.
Anyone need some "clean fill"?
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Port Kembla will never be the same. I used to live under the chimney's shadow.  :-[  :-[  :-[
I acknowledge hardworking Australians no matter who they are or where they come from. All those who have contributed to this wonderful country deserve an equal share of gratitude for their contributions. To single any group of individuals out for special homage only denigrates the rest of us.
