I acknowledge hardworking Australians no matter who they are or where they come from. All those who have contributed to this wonderful country deserve an equal share of gratitude for their contributions. To single any group of individuals out for special homage only denigrates the rest of us.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Save money, not likely ......

Had a few versions of these, ranging from 1977 to 1987 models.  Generally they were not very reliable (for this type of task) until I had then for around six or seven years, then pretty good for a number of years, but then for me they eventually became unreliable & temperamental, and now I can't get any of them to work at all.  It's strange though as they still work for my wife.

Another big draw back is that over the years they were very expensive to maintain, and even now one of them has an odd ability to empty 'fridges.

I've found these to be pretty unreliable and also prone to erroneous actions.  For example, the one I had at my old house (now rented to my son and his mates) worked reasonably well while we lived at the house and I thought that when we moved I wouldn't have any more problems with it.

Unfortunately that isn't the case as I've found the one from our old house opening our front door at our current residence at odd times of the day and night and it has even gone as far as to open the spare bedroom door.  I have found that it also interferes with my mobile phone to the extent that I get calls requesting that it be driven to or picked up from pub crawls, birthday parties and similar events.  It may be that it has been cleaned with a mixture containing alcohol which apparently can really mess up the circuitry.
Keep the shiny side up!
