Here's a very interesting graphic.

http://earth.nullschool.net/

It really clearly illustrates the air circulation.
Remember your science?  Clockwise around lows in the south.    :thumbsup

Japan appears to be in trouble at the time of posting!
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Must have been night time when I looked at the link, all I saw was a black screen.

I will check again in the morning when the sun comes up.

Nope, still night time, big black screen with the word EARTH on the bottom left corner.

Might have to get my 3 year old grandson to give me a hand.

That is quite amazing. If you zoom in on Japan you can really see the "eye" of the storm in that winds drop from 105kph to 8kph inside a short distance.

Try Google Chrome if you're stuck with IE.

That happened on our WIN8 laptop so I clicked on Earth and the page loaded.

Tried it this morning and the page loaded directly from the link so might be just for first time.

If you click on EARTH in the bottom left corner you can select "Ocean" which will then depict the currents.
Check out Torres Strait- max strength on the scale today.

Also, while in "AIR", you can select Temp.  Even here in winter, we're showing mild on the scale.  Antarctica is the extreme now at around -56oC

A click anywhere brings up a dialogue box with the co-ordinates and current temperature.
Ditto for the wind speed.
