Took the Bike to Get Serviced
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:54:49 PM »
Well I am home from 730km of great roads and good helmet time!

ducked down to Inverell to get a Major Service done on my ST1300, the whole trip was a hoot, blazed down in rapid fashion down through Texas, Bonshaw and to Inverell, although i did hit a washout a little hard and now my 12V & USB are not working so i have to got to work this weekend to get it ready for IBA next weekend

Took off from Toowoomba at about 1pm and headed south, stopped for a quick bite at the Leyburn hotel, and adjusted my new Gel seatpad i am trying out

landed in inverell about 4pm, went straight to the bike shop to drop off the ST and pick up my loaner bike....and wasnt i in for a treat!

They Loaned me another Honda!!

so i took this trusty STead out to my cousins house who filled me full of bad storys about old family and motorcycles, i even snapped a photo of a photo that came out well!

So after a good nights rest i saddled up my mini ST, and head out to see a couple of other relitives i had never seen or met either, Needless to say the day was perfect for riding, regardless what you are on!

even found me an odd letter box

oh and here is my Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother, and My Great, Great, Great, Great aunt

After saying my hellos and goodbyes, i headed back to inverell, fueled up my STead (all of $8.00 worth), then it was time for lunch, and after a sideline comment from my wife i was went and got a hair cut, yes i know a hair cut made a ride report

once i was finished making pretty, i dropped into the New Hip Pocket store that is opening in Inverell to see how they where going with it all, no signage up yet, but it is going to look a treat.

perfect timing when i walked out and the bike shop called and i was back on my normal two wheels

bike got a good report, accept the brake fluid had a lot of moisture in it, and i have to buy a new tyre pressure gauge as i thought i had 42 psi in front and back, but it turned out i had 48 and 50  :eek

it was nearly 4pm by the time i goe the bike back so i decided to come home via Glen Innes as i didnt feel like playing with the wildlife, and i got a chance to test out the LED's as well

grabbed a couple of nice shots along the way home (i love riding the stretch between Glen Innes and Inverell just awesome)

it got dark once i hit the border so i had plenty of time to fiddle with lights and positions

was disappointed to see this sign, i could have kept going, and going, and going

All in a all a good loop, the Gel Seatpad i am still playing with to get it sitting right, but definitely an improvement in comfort for sure, the service to the bike has really improved the fuel economy as well

really really looking forward to next weekends challenge

Nice little write up.

So what was the Integra like since it sort of replaced the Silverwing scooter?

Well I am not really sure as I never rode the silver wing, but this little scooter impressed me, I know the truck and couple of cars I overtook at a $1.15 where not as impressed to be overtaken by a scooter  :grin

It surprised me how well it handled, slough tighter corners I had to really back off, as it felt like I was going to fall on my side  :o

Hey, a Pi made from rocks :)
I am so glad to see Rotary are into math. Makes sense, rotary, rotation, circle, circumference, circumference = pi.d.

All makes sense.

Sounds like a great couple of days but why go to Inverell for a service?

I have lost faith in Toowoomba Honda, my fathers cousin owns the honda shop in Inverell and was more than happy to do a major service for me, and I got to spend the night with family as well so it was win win for me
