Still Kickin'

G'day everyone,
I have been a bit scarce lately. Health problems have kept Loris and I from riding so I have taken the opportunity to strip the ST and tidy the cosmetics up a bit. All of the coloured bits are at the spray painters and should be returned soon. The suspension has been upgraded as well. A Hagon, fully adjustable shock on the rear and a front fork rebuild with heavier weight oil. Tappets have been checked, oil and filter changed, clutch and brake fluid changed, radiator flushed and fresh fluid added and throttle cable adjusted. The bike and hopefully me, will be serviceable for the coming Spring. We have planned to ride over for the Geelong Sprints at the end of Oct.
We have been unable to travel to the UK for 2 years so the ST over there has had no use at all and will need some tlc to bring it back to service when eventually we travel back to see the UK kids.

Thanks Richo. Yes, the refurb. has gone well but now that I am retired, time takes on a new meaning and things happen, albeit at a slower pace.

Much better would be seeing the two of you plus the bike at one of our local RTE's

I will attempt to upload a photo of the bike when it is finished but the photos on my phone are too big to upload and I am no IT guru.
We would like to attend another RTE. Unfortunately, health problems have prevented any participation this year but with a bit of luck I should be OK to ride soon.

seriously though .... how much did the respray cost? I have been thinking about getting a respray but have no idea of the costs to expect.  Did you strip it your self or take the whole bike in for them to remove the Tupperware?

Ha ha, I like the red and everyone knows they go faster.
I was sworn to secrecy with the cost of the respray. I have a mate with a panel shop but if you walked in off the street, expect to pay in the vicinity of $2K for a good job. You will find cheaper but the quality may not be there.
A riding mate and I stripped the bike and re assembled it to keep costs down. With him working one side of the bike and me the other it didn't take long. 2 1/2 hours to dis assemble and the best part of 8 hours to put it all back together. Good fun though and I learned a lot.
