Where do YOU buy razor blades?
« on: November 20, 2014, 04:37:42 PM »
This is not a joke.

Sorry...

After having come from a well paid job where I did not really need to think about the cost of personal items like blades, deoderants and toothbrushes I have now found my income somewhat reduced and more enlightened as to the real costs of things.

My biggest 'wake up call' was with razor blades!

Up to $5 per blade!!!!  :eek  considering they only last 3-5 shaves it is EXSPENSIVE!  .....   I shave my face and head!

where do you buy your blades?

Shops, discount store, internet?

What other products do you use for facial hair removal?

.... and before you offer I am NOT waxing my head nor letting it grow!   :OldMan

be really interested to know about other savings for general stuff you might have.

Supermarkets

5 packs of branded disposable blades about $5/6.......either twin or triple blades in girls or guys as they're all the same and last me about a month or longer.

Bic - pack of 10 disposable for $5.20. Choice magazine did a review of all possible types of shavers back in 1992 and the Bic was best value for money overall. I started buying them in 1993 and still do!

House of Man - wax jobs last indefinitely - well, they used to. I think they've shut down now. Their wax supplier retired after me :grin

I use a 'lekky razor on the face, and 'lekky shears on top.. haven't bought a blade in 35 years.
The day I left the army was the day I threw away my iron and bought wash and wear shirts, and a 'lekky razor for $13.
Had to replace the razor 5 years ago, and replacement from ALDI was still under $20, I doubt it will last as long as the other one, (but then, neither will I )

Under 'general' stuff... I buy two kilo of chicken drumsticks from ALDI for $5.99... I eat 3 for a meal, around 15 drummies per bag, pretty cheap feed in my books.
3 packs for $18 is enough to last me two weeks. (I cook veges to go with it, and usually only eat 1 meal per day)

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

That 'leccy razor wont last too long on feathers.  :crackup
Last razor blade I bought was in 1976. Couldn't be bothered after they ran out so haven't bothered since.
