Animals on the road
« on: March 02, 2015, 04:59:20 PM »
Got my bike back from the shop Saturday morning and peeled off a hundred km or so just to get reacquainted.

Was riding across North Mackay near the river when I noticed that the cars coming towards me were slowing and stopping.  I eased off, then noticed the hazard and stopped.

Two ducks with half a dozen very tiny ducklings were waddling across the road.  They just don't have any road sense at all!

We were only held up for 30 seconds or so, but I noticed that when the cars started up from the other direction all the drivers were grinning and all of them waved to me.  And despite them being on four wheels, I must admit I waved back.

Just be prepared for the wildlife out there.
At my age you realise something very important, then ten minutes later you've forgotten it.

Lionel, why would you want to shoot grinning drivers?
