Rain gear is a bit of a catch 22.....the cheaper gear can potentially keep the rainout but as you have discovered it doesn't breath, so you get sweat wet anyway

The serious way to combat the issue is to buy Gortex riding gear but it hurts big time.....$1,000 average for a Jacket alone

but years of dry riding ahead of you.
The other option is to buy a product like a Rev'it Rain Jacket.....Hi-Vis option, lightweight, Breathable, non stick coated fabric (so you can slide it on over your bike gear) and about $80. I know of at least 5 members here on The forum using this particular Jacket incl us.
